Mohd Ulinnuha/Berry Angriawan progress to the QF after beating the MAS pair in 3 sets: 17-21, 22-20, 21-12. As expected, the KOR pair Choi Seung Il/Jun Yong Hyun will await them in the QF. Jenna Gozali/Rufika Olivta also progress, this time beating a KOR pair 21-12, 21-18. Yet another KOR pair Lee So Hee/Shin Seung Chan awaits them in the QF. Meanwhile, Ayu Wanda Tika Wulandari lost to Poon Lok Yan. Lastly, Mohd Ulinnuha/Jenna Gozali beat Pranav Chopra/Prajakta Sawant 21-16, 21-16 and they will face the top-seed KOR pair Choi Young Woo/Lee Se Rang in the QF. So, match-ups in the QF will pit INA vs KOR in all three matches: XD QF Choi Young Woo/Lee Se Rang [1] vs Mohd Ulinnuha/Jenna Gozali [5/8] WD QF Lee So Hee/Shin Seung Chan vs Jenna Gozali/Rufika Olivta [3/4] MD QF Mohd Ulinnuha/Berry Angriawan [3/4] vs Choi Seung Il/Jun Yong Hyun [5/8]
...yet to another Korean So, 4 out of 6 losses are to Koreans unfortunately. And 13 KOR representatives are in the QF today
Korea sent all its top juniors except the two who are on the national team now. These just happen to be the WS finalists from last year. This is the same as last year, when they didn't send Bae Youn Joo, who was on the national team but still junior age. If you look at the list from the 2008 finals, you'll see several of the names of players still in the draws at this year's semi-finals. Also at last year's AJC, Choi Young Woo was a MD finalist and Lee Joo Hee was a WD quarter-finalist.
As long as there are 3 INA pairs standing on top of tomorrow's winners podium, we're fine... Ullin-Berry, Jenna-Oliv, and Ullin-Jenna are the three best pairs we got in these 2 Junior tournaments... and they've proven their consistency (yet again) by being in the last 8...
Both Ulin/Jenna and Ulin/Berry have progressed to the SF as widely expected. But, Ulin/Jenna's performance should be commended in beating the top-seed. Meanwhile, Jenna/Oliv lost to the Korean pair narrowly (as always). XD SF Mohd Ulinnuha/Jenna Gozali [5/8] vs Mads Pedersen/Anne Skalbaek [3/4] -- if Ulin/Jenna can defeat the top-seed, there's no reason why they should not beat the Danish pair which is seeded higher than them. Their opponent in tomorrow's Final should be yet another Korean pair Kang Ji Wook/Choi Hye In [5/8]. MD SF Sai Praneet B./Pranav Chopra vs Mohd Ulinnuha/Berry Angriawan [3/4] -- likewise for Ulin/Berry...they should march to the Final. Almost certainly, the second-seeded Korean pair Choi Young Woo/Kang Ji Wook will be their opponent in the Final as well.
So, Ulin/Jenna have progressed to the Final yet again, after a tiring 3-sets victory over the Danes 18-21, 21-18, 21-19. XD F Mohd Ulinnuha/Jenna Gozali [5/8] vs Kang Ji Wook/Choi Hye In [5/8] -- both pairs are seeded 5/8 and I would say both can take this match. I hope Ulin/Jenna can repeat their feat in the Dutch Junior last week!
I think the final title distribution will go like this: 2 for KOR (WS for sure) 2 for INA 1 for MAS (MS for sure) I'm pretty confident on Ullin-Berry's chances... I think a straight set win is quite likely. While Ullin-Jenna will probably fight a tough match against the Korean XD...
ya...hopefully the title only go to this 3 country...hehe....... finally...our under19 national mas is performing after early defeat last week....thumb up......not sure if tee jing yi is injured or what....
INA girls in German Junior Ayu Wanda in German Junior Rischa Meissiani in German Junior, too bad she met the eventual finalist [Lee So Hee] in the first round Note: Lee So Hee almost played all of her matches in rubber sets, the only exception coming from the injury of Tee Jing Yi in their 2nd game.
Ulin/Berry beat the Indian pair 25-23, 21-14. They will now have a repeat of last week's Final. BD F Mohd Ulinnuha/Berry Angriawan [3/4] vs Sylvain Grosjean/Sam Magee [5/8] -- I think Ulin/Berry should be able to win for the second time in a row.
Hmmm... I think their posture and height of Ayu and Rischa, quite good, Krisna. I hope PB Djarum or Pelatnas if they recruited later, will train their stamina and specially footwork, until they reach top performance. The results from INA junior in 2 European tournaments in a row quite good, eventough only grab 1 title so far, but INA looks will have good pairs in XD, WD, and MD in the future...
