its ZN's last sudirman cup competition i'd assume, plus she is more experienced and olympic gold medallist:D XXF will have oppurtunities in future to play for China

and no disrespect to the indonesian player, but either ZN or XXF would have beaten her given nothing extraordinary happens.

In an interview Li yongbo said that ZN is an experienced player, and she's able to keep her nerves in a final of a big event ( like sudirman cup) and he also said that he found Xie maybe too young .. i quite don't agree with, for me Xie deserve to play this final, with that she'll be able to learn more and maybe be quickly a well experienced player ... you'll found the interview in one of all sudirman cup thread

    1. ZN has more experience, either the positive (many many) or the negative (UC in 1994)

    2. This is definitely ZN's last SC, it's nice to see her win the last point for CHN mighty army.

    3. With the SC, ZN gets the grand slam in WC, SC, UC and Olympics. ;)

If people still consider All England a major tournment, it's the only one she is missing. Wish she will win it also next year.

as "other" said, it really does not matter who was fielded, either Zhang Ning or Xie Xingfang will be able to beat Hari without much problem. you can say that Zhang was fielded because she has more experience, or she should be fielded because this may be her last sudirman cup, or you can also say that Xie should be fielded because she beat Hari easily in the group matches, or she should be fielded because she can gain the experience.

at the end of the day, it doesn't matter.

Xie mentioned in her post-match interview that she was a bit under the weather after the first victory against Indonesia in the group contest.

    Maybe her cold got worse...?

I actually consider Zhang Ning to be a better player than Xie Xingfang.

Even though I like to see XXF play (because of reasons that go beyond badminton), I have to agree that ZN is a more complete player and has truly wonderful skills. XXF is highly talented, but sometimes lacks that finishing edge that ZN has. Her drop shots and net play may also not be as refined. If she works on these, she will probably be as formidable as ZN if not more, given her height and speed. Who knows, she may be sparring with Lin Dan on a 15 point game basis and having some bonus games after that!!! :)

i think that xie xingfang has the advantage over other people only more because she has height and therefore, speed. in terms of technique, she is not that good yet. just like lee chong wei, only speed, but not much skill.
