...maybe this topic has been brought up. It's almost like a poll. But i'm just curious, but if you have $500 to spend, what would you do with it first, badminton related??..I know it might be too much for most people, but maybe also not enough for a few(hehe).. Would you purchase: -shoes??if so what brand and how many pairs??.. -strings??if so which model and how many??.. -racquets??i know most people will choose this first, so which brand/model and how many??.. -shuttlecocks??if so which brand/model and how many??.. -bags??which model and how many??.. -grips??which kind/model and how many??.. -clothings??.. -stringing machine??.. -other equipments??.. -training/coaching/videos??.. -buy equipments and re-sell them again??.. -invest in other badminton related things??... -or combination of the above??..
Yep, same here. How about you have "X" amount of money to spend. Assume you have no badminton gear whatsoever, how would you spend the money, given that you have to buy everything necessary to play, eg racket, shoes, clothes, 1 tube of shuttles etc. Kind of like those competitions where you pick a football team and you only have X amount of money to buy players...
I already own all the equipment I want (except my own gym ), 'sides, more money is wasted on more gear anyhow. I'm not as "hardcore" about improoving as some people so I might not go for coaching, instead, if I had extra money, I'd use it to help give other people the opportunity to play too. I'd invest it to start a badminton club. I'd call up a local college/university, and see how much it costs to rent their facilities for a few days a week for months on end, then I'd invite all my friends and fellow badminton players to split the costs with me-- actually, I'm planning on doing that this summer, if anyone in the Montreal area is interested!! Not that people don't already have their own gyms and clubs to go to, but the problem I find is that during summer, most students are out of school so there are massive overcrowding to get to courts.
Good call!! For me, excluding the training... -string: bg-65, either 100m or 200m reel -racquet: ti-10 x1, at800def x1 -shuttles: victor -bag: not sure, but i need one cause my current one is ripping I usually buy my racquets second hand, I think i've only bought one new racquet. I chose the ti-10 and at800def because I already have one of each and I need a spare for each just in case of string breakage.
an at 800 ,dunno wich. a pair of shb 99 and the rest in feather shuttle, i never played with feather :crying:
dunno in the school league the official birdy are the mavis 300 so we alway practice with it and now in college there 3 class ABC C and B play with mavis 350 and only A play with feather. I' m not good enough to play in A so i stick with plactics. But yes i think it's a question of money, in canada the governement doesn'T help the sport like in some other country ( just check our olympics result). And the badminton come far from hockey in popuarity so we deal with it
It has to be shoes first then coaching sessions You need the right footwear first and foremost and then try to get better, the correct footwear is quite cheap depending on what brand you choose. Should leave you about $450 to spend on coaching sessions
