Kawamae/Sato lost, now Shoji can concentrate on MS

    19-18, 2 more ~~~
    20-18, Mak/Tan match point.

And...YES! Mak Hee Chun/Tan Wee Kiong beats tricky INA scratch pair Bona/Rian 21-14; 21-18 to make it to the second round.

They will go up against another tricky pair, this time from Japan - Hayakawa Kenichi/Kazuno Kenta. Hopefully they can win here.

Yes, not a good sign. We need Taufik from 2004 and Chandra/Tony/Halim/Sigit from 2000 to win this year Thomas Cup.

Perhaps they should have kept Bona/Ahsan and Rian/Yoke. Well, well, Hoon Thien How/Ong Soon Hock having a really easy match now, just wrapped up the first game 21-11

I will give Ahsan/Yoke a couple of tournaments to assess how they can gel as a pair  But for Bona/Rian, I don't think they are suitable to be paired up  The problem lies in Bona.

I do agree that the next generation offers better hopes, in particular:
    Rendy Sugiarto/Wifqi Windarto
    Angga Pratama/Rian Agung Saputra
    - both are rumoured to have their debut in next week's Vietnam IC.

As for Mohd Ulinnuha/Berry Angriawan, given that they are currently only in Pratama, they might not get as much exposure to international tourneys this year, compared to when they were still in PB Djarum. We shall see.

Losing to Mak/Tan is really bad?

Is losing to Mak/Tan a disappointing result?

Hoon Thien How/Ong Soon Hock has an easy win 21-11; 21-13 over Vietnam duo. The final MD left is Teo Kok Siang/Goh Wei Shem, who will have a really uphill task against 5th seeds Cho Gun Woo/Yoo Yeon Seong...

Hopefully Mak Hee Chun/Tan Wee Kiong can avenge Luluk Hadiyanto/Joko Riyadi's defeat against Hayakawa Kenichi/Kazuno Kenta tonight. I, again believe they can do it and make the Quarter-Finals.

As for Hoon Thien How/Ong Soon Hock, good luck to them against second seeds Hashimoto Hirokatsu/Hirata Noriyasu. They need it.

Goh Wei Shem/Teo Kok Siang on court now. Hope they can make an upset.
