There is a string called toalson sn6470, it has been on the market for quiet some time. It's a blend of .70 and .64 as per toalson.
What do people think about doing +2 on the cross for aerobyte since cross strings are already thinner.
Guys - Tried BG66 UM it was amazing but not long lasting switched to Ashaway Zymax 62 felt good but hitting sound did not like so it did not really click and I did not feel connected with it . Finally tried BGAG initial impression was not good at 28LB reduced the tension to 27LB felt better and it is indeed an alternative to BG66 UM long lasting and if you have correct stroke, shuttle flies off the rear end with a slight wrist flick. Lasted for 6 weeks without any issue the red string ( vertical ) teared off a bit but thats ok as long as its giving me solid 6 weeks ( 4 days a week , 3 hrs session per day ) its a good deal . As time will pass I will get more used to this string but bottom line is - I never liked any other string than BG66 UM and now BGAG is an alternative. I also tried BG66 Force at one point but it felt mushy and I did not like the repulsion too . I am using Lin Dan force ( rio ) , Duora Z strike and ZF2 and I can tell you nothing like having BGAG at 27LB ( or 26LB if that works for you ) . I Most of us play at club level , for me control and placement matters than the power . I use power when I know it's gonna be winner.
well as @Charlie-SWUK said.. it is a good replacement for bg 66 um It is the closest too yonex can get to no1.. AB have Better sweetspot area, and probably a little bit better on slices... but for me, durability is still the main factor, because limited racket stock (and i can't easily restring that often). AB is also expensive. Cool from Yonex, a lot of pro also are using this, proof that it is quite good
Nowhere near... BG80P is very durable if not more so than the normal BG80 due to its slightly softer characteristic... Actually why are you even asking this. The BGAB is the least durable string of the whole lot but just short of the BGAS. If you managed to break a BG80P and felt that it was premature or undurable, you've probably mis-hitted pretty bad.
Weird he asked the same question in Li Ning No.1 thread. Maybe all that is required for him is BG65 at 21lbs. The racket will probably deteriorate before that setup gives way. Regarding BGAB, MBS has new colors in stock (SP coded packets). I'm going to order one just for the sake of trying it since I did enjoy using BGAS. Never tried AB so have always been curious as to how it will feel and perform since 66um wasn't my favourite when I tried it on my DZS.
I thought this string is pretty much an impressive one, although the sound I generate from it strung at 25lbs on a JS12 is kinda tad muted. ut I do enjoy it's repulsiveness and the power I can generate from it it decent.
BG80 x Red AeroBite (aerobite on the crosses given it is apparently thinner than 80) It looked beautiful in person but the performance wasn't what I would want over normal 80. Lesser repulsion than just BG80, More Rubbery / Lesser control than 80, A lot less bite on the shuttle, Hardness comparable to 80P and a much more muted sound than before. Overall I can't think of one good reason they chose this over 80 as the main other than the fact that it would increase the durability. Aerosonic is a beautiful string for what it is (especially at or above 30) but I really did expect red AB to be better than what it was as there was no increase in any department whatsoever when coupled with 80 (which what I personally would pair with a repulsive string if the hybrid job was my choice).
today i ordered a new lin dan force and had it strung with the aero bites cause it'll increase the style points Cant wait to try my new toy
Will it? *looks at that BG80 packet hanging on the wall* *remembers an aerosonic packet is arriving in one hour* I must know if it will or not! Report back soon.
Oh dear AS isn't all that resilient. I had it snap at 30 for me in the machine. I'm not sure it'll even survive your tensions, nevermind being paired with a rough string like BG80.
It did survive bunch of string jobs at 34 actually! Must have something to do with equipment differences. I'll keep it at just 30 for the test tho.
It survived at 34? Maybe I had a bad pack or something. I did 29 fine, but it just snapped at 30 for me.
Axelsen's crosses (aerosonic) are also tensioned at 34. Never seen 35 tho which makes me curio...... You ought to try it again sometime. Brilliant string off the machine. @nsmithers31 Congrats on the racket! It looks beautiful with AB!
