Zhang Ning is doing alright with the 3 Wangs in first half of 2011

    .
I think Zhang Ning is doing alright with the 3 Wangs. Since the start of this year (2011), all the 3 Wangs have performed pretty well, IMHO.

WANG YIHAN will win the title.

Best of success to: veteran star Yao Jie, up and comer stars Porntip and Rachanok.
    Where is Wang Lin?

I'm really not sure about this one. One of the CHN players probably.

It's only viewable by you. Don't worry, it works the same way in other forums as well.

2011 World Championships: Juliane Schenk (GER) developed as a player

    .
    Juliane Schenk (GER) has replied to some questions;

    http://www.badmintoneurope.com/news_item.aspx?id=51620

Qu: How do you prepare for the Worlds?

This week I was at the men’s national centre in Saarbruecken to practise with our [Germany's] best male players. Then we have a preparation’s week in Muelheim. It’s very nice to have a focused preparation like this, where you can intensively prepare for the World Championships.

Qu: What does a World Championship personally mean for you?

Despite we are playing World Championships every year, it is always something special for me. And of course this year we are playing at a very special stage. In one year time, the Olympic Games will take place at the Wembley Arena. That’s a special feeling.

Qu: What was your best moment at World Championships?

You can say that the experience I consider to be really important was at the World Championships 2009 in India. That time I reached the quarter final stage and I was really close in winning a medal. This tournament gave me a lot of power and motivation afterwards, especially because of the cooperation with my mental coach.

Qu: And your worst moment …?

… it must be at the last Worlds in Paris 2010, where I lost in the last 16 stage in a very close match. I felt all ups and downs in that moment. It was for sure one of my bitter moments – but I learned a lot out of this situation. I came out with new experience. After that I developed as a player and got better results.

Qu: What would you like to achieve in London?

I am looking forward to show very good badminton in front of an enthusiastic audience. I am pretty sure this World Championships will attract a lot of spectators. I am glad to play against world class opponents in such a nice arena and atmosphere. I guess everything is possible. To win a medal one year before the Olympics would be an amazing thing.

Surprised no one has corrected this statement yet (unless it was a joke hehe). Basically it's italic because it reminds/tells you who you voted for in the poll.

    WXS is leading

    .
5 days later, as I type, WXS is leading (29.21% = 26 out of 89 votes).

Considering BC historical correct prediction is about 20%, I would say that WD will be the only correct prediction. And poor WSX or WYH(whoever won the most vote) will get the jinx.

I wonder how many BCers believe to bring bad luck to the players that they have voted for?

For those BCers believing in jinxing, they would probably vote for players that they wish not to win. :D:D:D

Because WD is too predictable, no one can stop them (named Wang Xiaoli/Yu Yang) so far...
Looking at the last 3 editions, (jinx or not) no one of WS top & second seed advanced into WC finale, will it happen again here?

Believe me, it can happen when LYB decides so (if both pairs, Wang Xiaoli/Yu Yang and Tian Qing/Zhao Yunlei happen to face each other at the Finals)...... that is; the title be given to Tian Qing/Zhao Yunlei for CHN Olympic ranking points' sake. We shall wait and see. :):):)

This is perfect time for the non-China girls to make an impact. The 3 Wangs are not too stable now and doubts have crept in since Wang Xin and Wang Shixian were beaten by Saina Nehwal. If Saina and Schenk + Tine Baun can play intelligently, they have a decent chance. Not to mention that there are only 4 Chinese in the mix and there are more competitive players from Japan, Taipei, Thailand and Korea too.

At the very least, I expect a non-CHN vs CHN final, like the All-England.

It's going to be Tine Baun. She always does very well in England; why would the WC be an exception? She has the skill, strokes and power to take the game away from any opponent, if she is in the zone. Go, Tine!! Take the title!! :D

Tine is seeded No.5 and in our BC Poll she is placed as the 5th favourite. Surely, Tine has quite a good chance.

Currently, the surprise is Jiang Yanjiao (CHN), seeded No.4 but is polled as 6th favourite; while Saina Nehwal (IND), seeded No.6 is polled as 4th favourite.
