    Well, there will inevitably be a few who do support China and hope them to be successful, but that's fine right? At the very least, better than hoping for one nation to not be successful.

    If Taufik is prepared there is only one winner!!! Lin Dan is a choker in the big events. Just look at the recent Sudirman Cup!!!!!!

    That "honor" should go to MAS players in general. At least LD didn't choke in the last WC.

    If you consider Lin Dan as a choker than I don't mind all the Malaysian players as chokers too :D Come on, he won more than 50% of the tournament he participated, can you name any other players that have similar achievement? Even Kim Dong Moon and Ra Yuming failed in Olympic 2004 went in as heavy favorite. We all have our own idol that we like to endorse but please don't disrespect others. Whoever win the title is because he is simply the best(of course, Lee Chong Wei shall win :D)

    Just a reminder for every Die-Hard MAS fans... When MAS are reported to have field their BEST Team ever for TC06.. They failed miserably in the SF. MAyb WCH injured was the excuss.. But then LCW & HH lost the important MS match when they both are expected to win !
    High expectations from MAS fans & media sometimes will cost harm to MAS Players.. The situation is almost the same as in TC06. When many predicted a Finals between CHN & MAS. The results goes against MAS will.
    Just for some's pleassure reading --> http://www.badmintoncentral.com/forums/showthread.php?t=33036

    REally Hopes by the end of this WC.. We wont needs another explantion by Yap on MAS failure..

    Supporting nations is a good thing!

    Why support nations [especially your own]? Because it is fun! Especially if your own countrymen/women are good at badminton... It is healthy because it unites the country. A plural and easily divided country like INA needs unity. ;) :)

    For those who can only be fans of individual players, well that's up to you. :p This often/usually happens [though not in all cases] to badminton fans whose country of origin does not have a good National Team and top players. I can understand that...

    I might behave the same way too if I were in their position. :p But I would not criticize all the other fans who support nations and call the practice "sick". Supporting nations is a lot of fun, unites fans [of INA, MAS, KOR etc.] and makes the games more worth watching/following. ;) It is good for badminton!

    INA somewhat dominated 1970s and 1990s, but not the 1980s...

    Surely I wasn't bored in the 1970s and 1990s when INA dominated Men's badminton and for a few years in the 1990s, the women's game too. It was a lot of fun! :D Winning is fun!

    In the 1980s, well, INA didn't really dominate. Most can argue China dominated. In the Sudirman Cup, yes INA won in 1989, at the inaugural event... :) However, CHN won the Thomas Cup in 1982, 1986, 1988, and 1990. INA only in 1984. Uber Cup... well CHN won all decade long... :p

    Then in the All England, World Championship etc. CHN clearly won more than INA in total... They had Han Jian, Yang Yang, Zhao Jianhua, Han Aiping, and Li Lingwei etc.

    if so it's not necessary to put country on sport shirts for all badminton players, then they are individual players n we are individual fans.....:confused::confused::confused:[IMG]

    There are many types of BAdminton supporters all around the world. some fancies their favorite players.. Some stay loyal to their countries players.. some would only love to see great matches. Doesn't really care of Who vs Who as long as they ABLE witness a high quality/ entertaining match that will do..
    Thus, DO NOT expect every 1 to be the same as ur finking
