I thought such a high level tournament would use birds like the Yonex F series

Don't know exactly which shuttle is used. but I'm go for AS 50 (or something from this level).

But I saw some of the days I was early in the arena 4 types of shuttles tested on fly and speed.
They said, every day shuttles are tested to see what's gone be the shuttle of today.
So I don't think the same type of shuttle is used all round through the tournament.

for me its depend on the level of the tournament... i think for local/club/youth tournament as30 already meet the requirement... based on the fee and budget of the tournament. but if the state level or higher the organizer should use shuttle above as30 grade as there will have more budget from the tournament sponsor.

For international events, it should be AS50 level or equivalent. ;)

For lower levels, AS30 is reasonable. ;) Majority will go lower due to cost constraints. ;)

Like in a tournament I used to play every year in Taiping, they would use sealion gold without fail. ;)
