Wrong, if you want to be pro now, you need to increase your tension by 2.5 times. 13lbs. x 2.5 = 32.5lbs...perfect!
lets try and get back on topic . would it make a difference to performance if that string @ that tension was in a different racket? e.g.ns8k
Don't care and don't know. My NS8000 is permanently retired. I would gladly swap it for a used Ti-10 in good condition.
The 2-3 day fast delivery of 4 rackets from HK only cost me 15GBP. I don't think it matters if they sell it here or they sell it there. With the money you saved up for NS9K, you can get 2 Ti-10's, and plenty of fun once you set them up with the right string and tension.
Well, I haven't really paid too much attention to the strings before, just the tension. I/my family have: Yonex mp 100 with 23lb BG65 SOTX 8 with 25 lb BG65 SOTX 5 with 23 lb BG65? And other miscellaneous rackets with misc. strings. As you can see, I haven't really had much experience with different strings. I'll try BG80 next time, see how it works for me. Anyone know how much it costs in the US? Also, perhaps a very odd story, I have this really old Carlton racket, and its original string has NEVER BROKEN. WHAT?! How old is it? It's 10 years old. It's been an entire decade of playing with it, and it's never broken. With my entire experience in badminton, I've broken the string of the counterpart to this racket, two strings of my friends, the string on my SOTX 5 once, the strings on my old Futabaya racket once, and my old Futabaya racket. Yet, this old Carlton has never broken, so in my opinion, it seems invincible. I've even smacked it for minutes against a table corner, and it won't break. I'm guessing 'cause it's a low-tension, thick string, and I'm not very powerful yet, so it hasn't broken. Now, if I had given it to Dinkalot...
It doesn't matter what string tension a racket has. A person can get used to almost any tension and have good control over their shots. It's just that, higher the tension, the easier it is to feel the shot, which translates to easier adjustment to control. Anywho, back on topic: AT800OF- BG80@24lbs Note: I've used BG65s@25lbs and BG85s@23lbs on this racket as well. I prefer the BG85s, but I'm trying out the BG80s now to see how it is. Ti7- BG65@24lbs Cab30MS- BG65@22lbs Note: This tension is somehow working for me. Just got this racket, and the control is still superb despite playing at lower tensions than usual.
Disagree. For me the proper tension and grip are more important then the racket itself. But it is true, you can get used to a tension, but it will never be ideal.
Hi All, I used Muscle Power MP99 with BG80 or BG85 at 24Ibs. Will certainly give Micro Power a try later Also, would recommend a very good stringer for those who lives in UK. This guy is Mark Lawrence, who is one of the most reputative official stringer in All England tournoments. He based at Wycombe Badminton Centre or you can visit his website www.stringsnthings.org.uk. (I don't know this guy but he is really good!)
Ideal is quite subjective to each person. My point, is that everyone has a 'ideal tension preference'. Some may be 18lbs, 23lbs, or 30lbs. That's quite a wide range. (well I guess you can include the 13lbs one, but that's an odd one, but if he says it works, good for him then. I wouldn't personally try it. His ideal tension is not MY ideal tension.)
