Pretty certain that Boe uses BG80, and pretty much always have been, at 34/36. Mogensen also uses 34/36, however he's been playing with BG80, 66UM, Aerobite and Aerosonic, so he likes to try out all the new stuff.

The LD 32m 31c thing still bothers me. Has this been confirmed as an error?

Does anyone use any other brand of strings besides yonex? There are some really good ones out there... Ashaway, Forza, Gosen, Li Ning...

It's not an error but it's not so simple either. Check PM.

Seems that LD went from BG80 to 66UM. What are the differences between the two? I've played with both, but only when they were very much dead.

    A lot.

Bg80 is rough like wire, very hard feeling.

66um is smooth and a bit softer, quite soft to touch.

Just speculation but I suspect he switched because it leaves his arm feeling a bit better after using it. 66um doesn’t last long at all, 80 lasts quite a while, but he doesn’t pay for string so..

Thanks for the reply. I can tell a slight difference in feel, but sound seems about the same. I would describe 80 as crisp and 66UM solid.

    I seems like I'll get a reel of 80

Reverse for me. 80 is solid and UM is crisp. Probably one of the crisp-est on the first day. Insane pings everywhere on court and cracking sound.

I mean it's maybe possible if he/she is at a really low tension no?

I dunno, I find them pretty night and day for feeling. Very different.

It all seems like mush at 22 or so but maybe that's just me used to it being a lot more crisp.

You need to try Aerosonic. It makes UM feel just average and pings way higher. :p

I have at 34 / 32 / 30 a bunch of times. It makes my bank balance just average as well.

I use them at 24/26 and 25/27. Depends on the schedule for the week/month. As of right now, both seem to be fairly similar in feel, but I think I get a little more power from 66UM and more control and spin from 80. I think as I get better, I'll gravitate more towards 80 than 66UM. Plus I want a string to last a little longer too. I think I break 66 at 3 weeks and a half at 9 to 10 hours a week.
