Here is a question for all you badminton enthusiasts.

What kind of racquet is better suited for singles? Doubles? Not a specific model, unless you want to use it as an example. Characteristics such as:

    Shaft: stiff or flexible
Balance: head heavy or head light
    Head: oval or iso
anything other characteristics you can think of as well.

There is no easy answer, but if we talk about archetypical characteristics, I'd say they are something like this:

Singles: long, stiff shaft, head heavy.
    Doubles: light racquet, head light.

Mind you, these are grave generalizations. It all comes down to how you play: if you are a defensive player, you probably rely more on fast reaction shots than heavy power play. Thus you'd be better off with a light and head light racquet, maybe with a flexible shaft for easier reception of opponents smashes.
