Hi Guys...I have a problem..The story goes like this...

Last year(which is 2004), In the month of december and before, i was a very strong singles player in my area and i am almost unbeatable. People says that I have a very good stamina, strong smash, fast footwork and accurate shots.
But now a days, my singles game drop a lot. since year 2005 begin, my game becomes even worse. 1st it started like this, my shots becoming very unaccurate and unconsistent. my shots always either hits the net or out. and after that my stamina are slowly getting lower and lower day by day. and today i played EVEN WORSE! . Not only my shots are unconsistent and my stamina are low. but my footwork which people always praise at, are now gone....my power for smashing are also gone...
    My question is...
-What happen to my game actually????
-How to solve this problem and how to gain back all my skills???

I hope you guys can help me, I will appriciate your reply very very much...thanks

    Perhaps:

    1. You played too much; you get subconsciously bored.
    2. Your played the same set of opponents too often, too long; you get bored.
    3. You saw how one of the pro players did this or that stroke, you decided to experiment for a while; messes up the system.

This is all I dare to say.

    or.......
    1) you place too much pressure on yourself to be perfect.
    2) make a mistake and you get annoyed.
    3) Annoyance produce more mental stress which in turns add to more pressure on self.
    4) More pressure added, thus producing more mistakes.
    5) Turn into a spiral downhill....

Try to stop playing for a while.. maybe few days .. try to Meditate! Dont play too much. Or maybe subconciously you are traumatised by the Tsunami crisis.

Its from too much partying during christmas and the new year!

I totally agree with playing too much, take some time off to regain your strength. Your game doesnt detriorate that quickly. Watch some videos if you have them, your skills are still there, they are just on an extended vacation right now. :p

don't take too much time off, and don't eat too much unhealthy foods. I lost a good majority of my stamina becuase of yummy evil pizza :crying:

If you get tired, then everything including control, strength and speed will eventually get you to hit shots out and all.

Your time not playing well isn’t that long. …. since year 2005 begin ….
It is only a few days into 2005. Everyone has that experience from time to time.

Hi Darma, u r still training everyday right? I've gone through some of those periods too, it demotivated me as well. From my experience, it is something that comes by once in a while. Take a week off, just play casually during this one week, and start training intensively again after that. I think you were at peak performance during December and now it has dropped. Or maybe you have overtrained yourself.

oh well said fend...hah...okay maybe just take some time playing it casually...or sometimes not playing it for a couple of days..dont take too much time off.

do one tihng...cope paste all of the posts in this topic...in some word editor...and then select the points u think u will need to consider.
err just a lame suggestion, okay forget the editing thing..just cut them from this page...and note them down for future references..i dont think u need any more replies.

I find that if I don't eat right (enough) the day I play (usually in the evening) I feel dull and listless by the end of the second game.... watch your diet like posted above and go relaxed to the club. Take it easy for the first game...
