Is there any video analysis software which given a video file of the match can analyze and tell in details how the shuttle has traversed across the court for each rally(like motion tracking), how much a player has moved(like what we see in tennis) etc.
These are not shuttle trajectory, but body position/biomachanic, well, is for tennis. But the split step is super super important. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u2xAK9p2hIM https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jtWMP75377k https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UG5Z5fs4-Ms For badminton, we need a pioneer.
Years ago in school I messed around with this for a class project using MatLab's Computer Vision Toolbox. It worked (crudely), but the real challenge was in getting good quality video footage. You typically get extreme blurring of the shuttle because the gym is too dim to capture the shuttle sharply - and this was using professional badminton match videos. For amateur videos the camera and lighting is even poorer and you also have the challenge of getting a good camera placement.
