is it about the camp they were gonna attend in china, and to avoid being fine for not coming or being disqualified for not playing with their best efforts, they retire in the 1st round so that they can go back to china for the camp??

It seems Li Han will play Ratchanok in the second round. Tough competitor for Li Han.

You may be right. Or could they be silently protesting the BWF schedule and the penalty rule? Looks like they are 'retiring' their 1st tier players, leaving only their second stringers to do duty here. Hmm...I don't quite approve of it as they can actually use this tournament as part of their training ;they should know what's best for themselves, I suppose.

Fu MT , my fave SG player slightly more than Gu Juan, managed to romp home in G3. She will face Saina tomorrow. A tall order to expect FMT to trouble, let alone beat, Saina. Well, you may never know.

What a coincidence that top CHN MS & WS retired.
For this year agenda, looks like CHN squad will show off all out performance in All England, Sudirman Cup and World Championships...

It seems another retirement from Cai/Fu. Chinese Taipei pair advanced to next round.
