VICTOR CHINA Open 2019 : R/32 - FINAL (17-22 September)

Actually I think WR list next week largely depends on what kind of TTY we see in this tournament. If she wins I think she can go back to 1? Haven't done the math but I think it's possible.

From memory, CYF, NO & AY all made it to semi's last year whilst TTY is a first round exit. So it'll be a case of how many points CYF can defend vs how many TTY can gain.

Just last week, Marin lost in R1 to Supanida Katethong at the Viet Open, today she beat Nozomi in two straight sets, that's a good comeback.

Welp, looks like an out of sorts Japanese team here with Kamura/Sonoda and Watanabe/Higashino a game down. Must say that I'm sorta rooting for Tang/Tse after that impeccable display at Taipei.

Does the Olympic qualifications adopt the ranking system (best 10 tournaments) or does it use the total points system(like race to Guangzhou)?

She still has the persistence which is great to watch. Not worrying about Tokyo to much yet as it's months away and a lot of things can change but being consistent and staying injury free is number 1 priority right now.

Agree, even though if she hadn't had any persistance left at the ripe old age of 24 that would be a shame. :D

I'd say it was planned for her to not reach far in Vietnam since she's playing China and Korea (and she's even in at the Dutch) then DEN and FRA.

I don't think so. She might have thought she would try her best in vietnam and go for china later. But she lost in R1.

Hmm, I wonder if you consider RI as top player or not. Because NO has beat RI twice this year. But, yeah, NO's result against the top 5 is horrible, especially the recent one.

I think she is aware enough on her current condition. Though I am not sure how much time she needs to solve her problems.

No, I don't. The top players imo are TTY, AY, CYF, PVS, (CM) in no particular order. These are the ones that can win (and have won) the big tournaments. RI and NO are imo on the brink, but sadly on a downwards rather than upwards drift. Ratchanok hasn't won a big tournament (SSP or 750+) since Denmark 2017.

Lin Dan doesn't have the speed, plus Momota reads his game well, and, worse, now that Lin Dan is one game down, no hope.
