Hey, for all you american fanatics, I would like to know how the standard is? And badminton in your country, obviously because it does affect popularity in the world. How has badminton been affected since WC 2005? What has the association done to improve? Any potential shown from local talent for future? Any difference in the press or media? What do non-badminton players think of it? Just wanted to know how well it's doing in America Thanks, Will
I will say, the flow of immigrants is the key for badminton growth. The majority of badminton players are still either new immigrants, or the 2nd generation. The good sign is more badminton gyms are opened here and there, and juniors start to take proper training under their own willingness. Therefore, in a long run, I am sure it's a positive sign.
I have to agree with LazyBuddy. Badminton around here isn't call the asian sport for nothing. Our school team had around 70 players in the begining and 1 of them was not full asian. On top of that I beleive only 2 of them was not a immigrant or 2nd generation. On the upside I see more and more interest in badminton around here in the bay area. The increase of popularity has caused other people to notice badminton, which is a definate upside.
