Wow..James...still up? I just woke up.....hehe Tirkus is still able to play and beat younger pairs in the recent local tournament....beating Djarum pairs....just amazing...
I always come on just before bed...tired now though, last post. Trikus style is lasting. His game was based on skill and placement rather than speed or stamina. A player whose game is based on power, speed and general fitness are a lot less likely to be able to compete at 40 than a person who game was skill. Roslin for example was fine when he was fit and had good stamina, but now he will struggle against anyone who is fitter than him.
yeah.. it's strange.. not too sure the reason... i really cant recall ... it was too long ago... haha... sorry man... anyway, imagine if those days Indo did not have too many single players... we would be able to see Trikus as single player.. wow.... must be very interesting...
trikus and minarti are also playing in the 2009 philippine open and they are great! one of the best deceptive players that i've seen.. minarti's drop shots and net play are one of the best. trikus also has a wonderful predictive talents. even if the china player wanted to trick him, he still went for the place where the chinese placed the ball! nice!
His son will be a great player too : Rehan Naufal Kusharjanto, 2017 India Junior International GP (MD), 2017 AJC Winner (XD), 2017 WJC Runner-up (XD), 2017 Indonesia IC winner (XD).
To be honest I dont feel like Rehan have the physicality to be a top class player. Will he have steeper and stronger smash than Tontowi? They need to find tall players like Tontowi/Praveen. Thats what it has always been. Rehan needs to play like Dechapol and its hard to be consistent when you are not that tall? Unless he play MD?
It's nice to hear his voice regarding Indonesian badminton in the current era. From left to right : Trikus Hardjanto, Sigit Budiarto, Yuni Kartika, Kompas TV crew, Luluk Hadiyanto As well as other former best Indonesian players still giving their passion in badminton. We're hoping Kompas TV still become the leader in badminton telecast in Indonesia #HouseOfBadminton. Good luck for those former Indonesian players!
