Its not good to watch non-live on youtube, the length of the video will reveal the outcome a bit into the match.
I think it'll be a tall order for Chen Yufei, Intanon is too crafty and experienced for her, their previous encounters notwithstanding. In addition, IR looks very fit and attacking well in this tournament. Yesterday, IR was smart to use a lot of her deception to catch the unwary roookie Chen Xiaoxin who was handed a humiliating lesson on how not to play a highly deceptive offensive player. I hope CXX is a fast learner, I believe she has the right attitude, her on-court demeanour shows a very positive and motivated youngster until IR bashed her senseless. This is the kind of hard knocks that makes or breaks champion material. Let's see if CXX has it in her. The future will tell soon.
Sun YU, I've no confidence in her, esp after how she struggled to escape yesterday against Beatrice Corrales despite a good start in G1, 21-11 convincingly, only to end up fighting to save herself from the brink of defeat by deuces in G3, 23-21. I'm both realistic and pessimistic, both Chen Yufei and Sun Yu's quests for the title come to a stop today.
Son won ho was asked by interviewer after his win yesterday (against Tanongsak) , he said he was already looking for tomorrow's match(i.e Today's match against Srikanth Kidambi). It will be a hell of a match if both the parties play to their full potential.
With all the hype around, why do I get a feeling it'll be anticlimaxing? I just happen to have a weirdly Intuitive gut
It's good that they are starting an hour early today. It was late for even me by the time Adcocks came on court
As for Lin Dan, if he carries on the shitty crappy manner the last three rounds, I've a feeling Vincent Wong can help us put an end to our misery watching Lin Dan doing that stuff today. Don't forget, this is also the 4th round, Lin Dan's fitness/stamina should be somewhat stretched, what with having to go the full distance round after round and the remaining rounds opponents all being much younger than him. I don't recall ever seeing Lin Dan such a slow starter and so erratic right from the very first round and through half the tournament. Seriously, I can't imagine Lin Dan carrying on in this fashion all the way to the final and even take the crown. Incredible and defies logic. Father Time spares no one, how can Lin Dan , turning 34 on 14 Oct, and LCW, turning 35 on 21 Oct, go against Mother Nature and continue to maintain their physical condition and defy the ravages of age, not in such a physically demanding sport as badminton at the highest level. True, there have been rare exceptions in the history of sport. Might it be so for Lin Dan this time ? Hard to say, but I won't bet on it when he's been playing such uninspiring badminton so far. Indeed, life is stranger than fiction.
Of course, I'm exaggerating when I said Lin Dan played like **** or crap the last few rounds. Yes, on the whole uninspiring for someone of Lin Dan's calibre, but he did showed flashes of brilliance and in his inimitable style turn it on when necessary to put the opponent out. Just that , as a Lin Dan fan, I expected better and more from him.
I pick Saina to prevail over Kirsty Gilmour. HBJ lost mainly on stamina, Saina looks so fit and strong, no such problem, plus she is way more experienced and mature as a player.
We can only hope that Nozomi wears and grinds down Marin. Not easy though, far from it, Marin peaks at just the right time. She is the one to beat here whether we like it or not.
As for Chen Yufei,I hope she doesn't lose too badly to IR, what happened to Chen Xiaoxin was pressure and nerves and after seeing how her colleague CYF bested Akane, CXX felt she had to do as well but in her eagerness, she lost her way and was completely humbled.
Son Wan Ho vs K Srikanth is a 50-50 affair. Can KS rise to the occasion or will he suffer an attack of nerves ? Son WH is more steady in this regard but KS has the better attack.
