He could have withdrawn. I guess if he withdraws then he gets no ranking points, so he's forced to just stand there to get the round 1 ranking points.
my thoughts exactly... he didn't want to lose out on a few points here from round 1. Yes, he's definitely sprained his back or something. Hope he gets well and gets back into action... miss watching him play with his 36lbs string job...

And yes the organizers also know that And the viewers don't want the shuttle hiiting the racquet of the master once and falls on the other half of the court without any effort from his rival... Who wants to see a 3 shot rally throughout the match.. PV is firstly an Indian secondly Two time Bronze medalist and third and most important her oppo was a tricky one and the match was well expected to be tough...and trust me it was a worth watching match at least better than LD'S match with horrible oppo and terrible umpire
Didn't expected them to win but Carla Nelte did well Even though they are higher ranked they keep on loosing to lower ranked pairs lately Also shockingly BM/IH lost yesterday
All fine man!,all fine now.Little agitation was due to last month's Chinese taipie open where they didn't show the 5th match b/w LD and CTC for which I waited throughout the day and switched to Cricket.
can't wait to check out Srikanth's current form... probably a walk in the park this round... but exciting matches awaiting him
