On this occasion, I just can't help being reminded of the happy memories of TUC 2008. A group of BCers converged in Jakarta, the unofficial Mecca of badminton, to witness the historic moments of the competitions for the top men and women's teams in the world. We also had a chance to unfurl our BC Banner for all to see.

BC members came from as far as the US, led by 'uncle' Tony and nearby Singapore and Malaysia, including our "Cat" sisters from Kuching, Sarawak, and ably organized by our Indonesian hosts, Rudy and Krisna.

We were given VIP treatment into the stadium, thanks to Rudy, and tasted Indonesian hospitality through Krisna's Djarum connection for dinner and supper, and friendly social games at the Djarum courts.

I now share with you some of our happy moments in pictures.

Great idea to get together and enjoy badminton

Yes it was great fun having like-minded people like our BC family to take the trouble to get together, travel to a foreign country once a while. enjoy watching and playing badminton together and tasting the food and the culture.

Some of us also met for the Beijing Olympics 2008, the Beijing Asian Games 2010, the lesser known Melbourne Commonwealth Games 2006 and tournaments in the region like the Malaysia Open, Singapore Open and Hong Kong Open.

These are some of the little pleasures in life that cannot be bought again. And they become part of our happy memories. :)

(I've almost forgotten BCer fastdrop from the Philippines who used to be an active member.)

That looked fun..

FYI, That Rudy is representing Indonesian Badminton Association now..

Yes many of the older BCers have been inactive. But you may find ants and others on FB.

Those were the times ...
I had been inactive for a long time, before coming back recently, now that my work schedule is lighter (and BC looked better!).

everyone look so young!

i still have that banner. it sits in my badminton bag and comes with me every time to the gym.

Yes, those were the great old days ...... it was in fact the only time my face was featured on TV during the Malaysia vs China semifinals.

A few of the younger Malaysians BC-ers who came to the Istora atmosphere for the first time learnt a new understanding of the why this was the best mental training venue ever for Malaysian shuttlers and fans alike ...... regardless of whom they play/shout against. Yup, the, err, tradition of the Indonesia-Malaysia confrontation and rivalry is evergreen and fresh.

Long may this continue.

And oh, best of luck for Team Indonesia in the 2016 Thomas Cup Final. You can do it!!!!
