Both LYB and AF are arrogant SOBs. But both are great fatherly figures to their charges and have that magical touch to bring them together. Most importantly, they win.

For me, LD displayed the strength and heart of a real champion. Written off by many after his capitulation to LCW, and even worse after losing the 1st game today, he roared back in style to power CHN ahead.

Big props to BCL who held his nerve and then dispatched of LHI to give CHN that crucial mental edge.

And my fave player today, the big boy Xie, who rose to the challenge and eventually broke down the stubborn Koreans.

    MIGHTY MIGHTY CHINA

So fast ppl forget, this time yes. Last year up to Feb 2008, Fuzzy were under fire for their nervous at crucial point syndrome.

LHI is never a contestant for Olympic Gold. He is not even close to that club. Even if the contestants line up from the twin tower in KL to the Merlion Statue in Singapore, LHI is not going to be there.

didn't forget lar actually... but Fuzzy have been working hard to correct the situation.... :) it is only my opinion by the way... :) after all, i still think Fuzzy will not get the chance to play in this round's Olympic and have to wait until they are 29 yrs old... :)

LYB is everywhere whenever UBER or THOMAS CUP matches is held, interval time also he go and talk with the players. He also sit behind the court to supervise the player play.

Is he the Head Coach of CHN TEAM? If yes, i want to ask a question here. Where is YAP KIM HOCK? Why he didnt show his face or play his roll like LYB?

    ...

..i thought that title belongs to Zhang Jun or Zheng Bo???... ;)

The way you've described those first 3 matches makes me want to see them...i bet it was a crucial pt for CHN after LD's win..

Anyway, great job by all the teams as this came out to be a pretty interesting Thomas & Uber Cup tourney!...See you guys again in 2 more yrs, in KL, for the 2010 TC & UC!...Start planning for that get-together, M'sian BCers (who knows i might plan another trip there)!!..:D :p;)

I do agree that he can post threat, but the gold is too far from his reach. To all honesty, I wouldn't think he lost to BCL because of stamina. Even in his prime, he seldom won BCL, and he lost consecutively the recent five matches before this match. He seldom beat Chen Hong either in his prime.

However, he is impressive to me as he showed some nonnegligible progress after he came back to the stage.
