bhut jolokia mate !!! more than 1 000 000 scovilles. that is some serious fire power.

i agree that the szechuan chilli numbs the whole mouth. i always thought the numbing of the mouth is caused by the other spices in their dishes.

i've just discovered this thread :p

and speaking of cili.. i was told that this is real hot stuff... and it's hotter than cili padi it seems. my dad got it from Bali and we have a pot of these @ our garden. even teeny weeny bit will burn your tongue. I won't know.. I don't take raw chillies :p tho I like to eat hot stuff. Just don't fancy the smell i think.

Not sure the exact name of this chili tho.

Chilli oil is not known in SE Asia although it is common in Hong Kong. It is not eaten like the way fresh chillies are eaten. It is used as a condiment like you would use salt or pepper in very small quantity.

Unfortunately, we almost finished the first dish when I took the photo. The first dish is Beef & Tripe Served Cold.

    The second dish is beef.

    The third dish is fish.

    The fourth is chicken.

Of course, beer goes down very well with Sichuan food.

You fellows in North Ameriac should introduce Sichuan dishes to Hillary Clinton. She will find it to be very different from the type of chilli peppers she has been eating.

No, we didn't finish everything and had to split and pack the leftover home. My bro finished the leftover in less than 10 minutes.

The numbing pepper in the oil was too much for me at the end. I couldn't stop coughing everytime I tasted the oil :p:D:cool:.

    That's Growler :D.
