Thomas Cup: Group A: China, Korea, Peru; Group B: Malaysia, Japan, Nigeria; Group C: Denmark, Germany, Poland; Group D: Indonesia, India, Australia. Uber Cup: Group A: China, Malaysia, USA; Group B: Indonesia, Denmark, Australia: Group C: Japan, Russia, Germany; Group D: Korea, India, South Africa. first 2 of the group thro' to a new draw for the quater final. no funny businese from KOR this time.
gosh, Chn and Kor in group A TC?? Ina UC must deliver clever strategy to beat Denmark I know my question sound silly and out of date....but where's England teams???
All of the European teams are going to cancel themselves in the Group stage. What a shame. Group A is a sure killer. China may face an early exit shock
(In the two-stage, two-draw format, only the top two teams from each group will progress to the knock-out stage – the quarterfinals. Previously all three teams from each group (four groups) progressed to the next stage. At the knock-out stage, a fresh draw will be held to decide the ties.) http://www.internationalbadminton.org/news_item.aspx?id=31680 It will end up with six Asian and two European countries in both TC and UC.
so you've eliminated Peru, Nigeria, USA, Australia and South Africa. how dare you? are you saying they are waste of places?
more likely they will be eliminated..unfortunately..it is part of system....just like World Cup..any asian qualifiers in WC , more likely will be eliminated..... If qualifications are based by Ranking, I am sure..NED ( UC), ENG, Singapore ( UC), Taiwan ( UC, TC) or Poland will be IN
Peru beating China in Group A? Note : 2 teams qualify from each group to the knockout stage (Quarterfinals)
I had the same exact same comment. The day Peru beats China in a Thomas cup match is the day I will quit playing, watching, and following badminton. Korea will have a hard time keeping pace with China and Peru will be completely outclassed.
I go along with you analysis, unless in TC Gp D Australia upsets India. (Is Aust considered as European?) Just wondering, can a player play both singles & doubles against the same country?
He he he, That's a very connie question. I think very handful of us can even name 1 Peru badm player (I can't ).
TC : A - China B - Malaysia C - Denmark D - Indonesia The top 5 with absence of South Korea, most likely. UC : A - China B - Indonesia/Denmark C - Japan D - Korea
The tie that will catch my attention during the PRELIMINARY round should be thomas cup Korea vs China uber cup... Malaysia vs china in uber cup
I never said that this 5 countries are waste of places. Do you really, really think that they can progress to QF? Well, you're very optimistic person, well done.
Australia could steal 1 or 2 points, but I'm sure India will going through. And yes, a player could play both singles and doubles against the same opponent, and the order of play will readjust to give he or she enough time to rest.
