    Senora Stadium?? Do you mean SENayan istORA? Wow, it's new name as we always calling Istora Senayan and the official name of the venue is Istora (Istana Olah Raga) GBK (Gelora Bung Karno) Senayan.

    Of course, playing in front of home crowd is one benefit for INA team. INA Thomas squad has huge obstacle started from quarter against KOR or MAS.

    i also think that ina can win over china...but before that,think about quater first...as i think malaysia can bet korea in group...ina will fan korea in quater...

    it will be clash of titan...only ina 3rd ms have advantage...other will be 50:50...hard to predict...

    Won't MAS have to field CTF/LWW as 1st MD and KKK/TBH as 2nd MD based on ranking?

    SDK vs LCW ==> 0-1
    MK/HS vs CTF/LWW ==> 1-1 (60-40 chances)
    TH vs WCH ==> 2-1
    Luluk/Alvent vs KKK/TBH ==> 2-2
    Simon vs HH or LTS --> 3-2 (60-40 chances again)

    On paper INA has advantages on the last 2 singles and pretty even in the MD against MAS. While against China, INA is pretty much at disadvantage in all 3 MS (TH vs Bao probably 45-55) and slight advantage on MD. I still think China is harder to beat than MAS.

    Bottom line..

    ..(as i mentioned before, in other threads)...for the INA Thomas Cup squad: no matter if their MDs get both pts, it all comes down to the Singles players, esp. playing against the top teams (KOR, MAS & CHN)...

    If INA meets Korea

    SDK - PSH === 0 - 1 (SDK has never defeated PSH in their 4 encounters) However, SDK has been improving and a chance to defeat him...as in their last encounter Sony lost a tight rubber set with the last set being 21-19...
    Deep down 50:50

    MK/Hendra - 1st Pair (I have difficulty in remembering Korean names) - 1-1
    This is purely 50:50...as the match will be in JKT...so MK/Hendra will have a slight advantage of winning the match

    TH vs LHI ==> both have been declining...before Taufik had a serious injury....LHI had always difficulty in defeating TH. However, during the period in which TH was in the process of recovery, LHI always defeated TH. However, since LHI sustained injury last year, he had missed a lot of SS, resulting in his poor performance. However, as time went on, LHI's performance has been improving again but not as good as before he sustained injury. In my opinion, TH's condition is similar to LHI's condition.
    On normal condition, TH will be able to handle LHI. (2 -1)

    Luluk/Alven or Chandra/Nova vs 2nd pair ==> I personally would prefer Chandra/Nova to Luluk/Alven ....(3 - 1)

    Simon vs SSM ==? SImon will win

    I would put it more like:

    PSH beat SDK
    JJJ/LYD beat MK/HS (jung and lee too good at the moment)
    Taufik beat Hyun Il
    LJJ/HJM beat Luluk/Alvent

    SDK vs PSH (50:50, sony will win with homecrowd's support)

    Taufik beat Hyun Il
    chandra/nova vs LJJ/HJM (55:45)

    Haha. Uncles.. That's a funny term. Then Chandra/Nova vs Malaysian Uncles should be INA Uncles vs Malaysian Uncles. And then the Malaysian Uncles plays Demark. It should be Malaysian Uncles vs Dane Grandpa. :D:D

    INA fans were probably over-estimated or rather highly optimism with MK/HS.
    Lets looks at their perfomance/results in INA SS 2007 :
    The reigning WC doesn't have impressive record in their homeground..
    They were well beaten in 2 straight sets by KKK/TBH in QF...
    JR/HAG lost to MK/HS in a 3 games thriller while Luvent easily beaten by the MAS uncles in QF

    Taufik failed to create history by a "shock" defeat over Bao CL .
    Sony DK fare better as he only lost to teamates TH in QF. Simon S & Tommy S did gave a better fight against more fancy opponents in LCW & PG respectively before bowing out in 3 sets.
    Anyway, that was happened almost a year ago. We can't use the above perfomance to judge/predict how would they achieve in TC this coming MAY and I do believe SS is more on individual glory while in TCUC, the nation's pride will be at stake.

    Sure... On the other side, CHN has even better chance to let most of the others packing for good, too :p

    CHN in badminton world is like the earlier days of "Beat LA" for NBA... :D

    Earlier days of "Beat L.A."?!?!..

    ..uhm, they're still chanting that, even until now..."Beat L.A., Beat L.A."..;)
    But unlike CHN's domination, which they're still dominating til now, the Lakers have just gotten back as a title contender...;)

    It's good to see him being optyimistic.
    Maybe he's trying to encourage his fellow INA shuttlers or even us, Indonesians.

    But for me, he should focus in improving his stamina. If INA meets CHN, he'll be promptedf to go against Bao CL. And I can't remember the last time he could beat Bao. We have Jason Kurfurst now, and he should take advantage from this.
