Tablet... the next big thing...

Are you using iPad, thom_bad?

I think iPad is going to be the future thing.

It's light and user friendly and of course not all download software are free.

However, I heard pay a small fee for a jailbreak :D

No USB port and No FLASH support... :(

I think in Q2, the tablets will flood the market... consumers will be spoilt with choices

Unfortunatelly I don't have one...
Jimbo : I heard the iPad will get a usb port ;)

wow... good news... I've been waiting for this... without the USB port, the iPad is quite "handicapped" to me... honestly, the price for iPad is quite affordable...

still exist? dont be fool. they are much bigger than Apple.

They are bigger than Apple? U must be kidding me... Apple's market capitalization is on par with Google in the tech industry... Motorola? What is their market capitalization?

If I'm not mistaken, Apple's surpassed Microsoft in term of market capitalization...

Apple: USD$312.48 billion
Motorola: USD$21.26 billion

sorry, are those figure are for phones only or each company turnover?

It's not turnover but market capitalization. It measures the size of the company by the number of floating shares and current price of the share. So obviously, Apple is at least 10 times bigger than Motorola (at the current share price).

Anyway, I also heard that Motorola will launch a series of cool tablets in Q2 (previewed at CES)

<Off topic>

More of the reason why I think the share market is a whole load of ... gonads.

Announce a good news - true, manufactured or twisted - share jumps, company earns US$ 5m selling... nothing.

... US$ 5m that doesn't exist.

Samsung will launch the 10.1 inch tablet this summer... looking forward to it.... IMHO, 7' screen is too small for me...

I'm going to wait and see how much the Samsung 10" costs compared to the Motorola Zoom before buying. They have pretty much identical specs so it really comes down to price, build quality and aesthetics.

As for the IPad... hopefully they increase the hardware specs for it on the 2 but right now it's good enough for the masses. Of course, don't expect to see all the features of the Zoom (dual cameras, USB, SD Card Slot... etc.) until IPad 5 or so and the lack of Flash will always be an issue.

I actually bought a Toshiba Libretto W100 dual touch screen UMPC and it's great. Full windows 7, usb, microSD... etc. basically a 7" dual touch screen netbook. Only real draw back is the 4 hour battery life (constant use) which is why I want a 10" Honeycomb pad for the 6-9 hour life.
