Poetic justice was served today when Laybourn/Juhl put away "walkover specialists" Sudket/Saralee in 2 straight games, 21-17, 22-20. The Thais "walkover antics" the previous day had resulted in an emergency meeting among tournament referees and team managers, as the rulebook mentioned that any walkover due to any reason is ground for disqualification. This same rule was implemented and enforced at the Grand Prix finals (using a similar tournament format) a couple of decades ago. The first game was for the Danes all the way, although a lapse of concentration allowed the Thais to come back briefly from 9-14 down. The 2nd was a thriller, Thais holding the initiative until Saralee's mistakes late in the match.
