Most players hit the feathers than the cock, so if goose feather shuttles are used, I am sure the animal lovers will protest given the large flocks of goose being sacrificed. So, the pro like you stay with feathers and the not so pro stay with plastic, win-win. I play both...LOL
I played at Sunridge on a invitation a few weeks ago, very good facility. Interestingly, I was told by a playing friend there is another court in Okotoks (near Calgary) with a similar court surface. He is a very good player, and he sprained his knees the very first game. Next time, he was out 4 months recuperating, the reason was the surface unlike parquet or hardwood flooring where you can slide, it grips you and he twisted his knee. So, if a player has been playing on hard surfaces, switching over to this rubber mat surfaces need some adjusting. But I like it, far less strain on the knees, just need to get used to it. I also can see a lot of familiar faces in the pictures.
