    The Moment of Truth ......

...... and the truth is, when Germans set their minds to achieve something, it will happen.

Even without soldier Schenk and Zwiebler. The response that they had over the 0-5 drubbing against Chinese Taipei was amazing.

And so, the warning was on the wall ......

    GLY back.jpg
...... when Goh Liu Ying was pushed regularly back ......

    Michels split.jpg
...... and the German's secret weapon, the split was activated.

    German crowd.jpg
    German teammates concentrate hard.

GER XD Won1.jpg GER XD Won2.jpg GER XD Won3.jpg GER XD Won4.jpg
Mr Fuchs lets out a scream of delight .......

    GER XD Won5.jpg
...... until Mrs Michels reminded him, victory would not have been possible without her sexy split .....

    GER XD Won6.jpg
.... and hence, Fuchs stopped screaming and looked at his partner in awe ......

From then onwards - the Malaysians had lost the tie, but only the BC spy knew that, the players and coaches didn't.

LCW came to rectify the sinking ship, expecting just a basic workout against Domke. But boy, was he wrong ...... it was a laboured victory.

    LCW leaping.jpg
LCW started with all guns blazing - and an 11-3 lead ......

    LCW defend.jpg
...... but after that, he was forced on all fours ......

The next match on the menu pitted the Malaysian GP Gold Champs against their conquerers in a previous matchup, Kindervater/Schoettler. And the Malaysians showed their more senior underachieving teammates that winning is possible, even when down 11-16 and 13-18 in the 2nd game ......

But most of all, the match is about Complaints, and More Complaints ......probably will win the title of Match with Most Number of Complaints.

The umpire was overworked .....yup, we needed someone tough and strong like the late umpiring great Cormac Breslin (may he rest in peace). He would have stared at the players into submission.

    MAS MD attack1.jpg
Malaysians started in attack mode ......

    MAS MD Defend.jpg
...... and are very compact in their defence ......

    GER MD Complaint.jpg
..... but it drew a complaint from the Germans .....
Kindervater : Err, Boss? Are u sure these are the correct MAS pair? They are playing like superstars, and that's not possible. We whacked them silly last time we met ......

Come game number two ...... more of the same, err, complaints.

    GER MD Complaint2.jpg
German players : Ref, the shuttle was out by a country mile .....we demand to use video referral.
Umpire : You got this wrong. The ref is the one wearing Red Shirt. And the video referral system is under review here ...... still with a lot of bugs, so everything will show up longer than a country mile.

    GER MD Complaint3.jpg
Kindervater : Shxt!!! Then where do we escalate our complaint?!
Umpire : May I suggest, God? Cos there's no way in hell that I would overrule this line call .....

    GVS Complaint.jpg
Goh V Shem : Err, boss! Actually they are tired already, but they don't know the English phrase for "Towel Break" .....

MAS MD Won1.jpg MAS MD Won2.jpg MAS MD Won3.jpg MAS MD Won4.jpg
Malaysian 2nd pair show their out of shape seniors how to not give up and win ......

Next up were matches involving Women exclusively .... and Women is where Malaysia's achilles heel lies, ever since the retirement of Super Series Winners Mrs Lee Chong Wei and Wong Pei Tty/Chin Eei Hui.

Germany too, is undergoing renewal in Women's Singles, soon this girl, Ms Olga Konon (formerly of Belarus) shall take over .....

It was one way street all the way in this match ......

    . Konon nice.jpg Konon move.jpg Konon move2.jpg Konon1.jpg
......... so let's just enjoy the many poses of Ms Konon and her huge knee guard.

Finally, the decisive battle between the women's doubles pairs.

Now, a lot of forummer were saying the match was close ...... if you mean the scoreline, yes. But control had always been with the "split-powered" Germans ....... kept their racquets up high and intercepted loose midcourt returns. Most importantly, both Johanna and Birgit stayed very close to the net ......

To the Malaysian's credit, both of them especially Woon Khe Wei worked their socks off, but they were always disadvantaged by a very heavy burden. The petite but powerful Vivian Hoo had not been able to show her true colours in this competition - typically she is more stable than the beautiful Miss Woon.

One of the reasons of the result is because .....

    MAS WD Fear.jpg
.... the Malaysians were playing with fear in their eyes ....

    MAS Cheer1.jpg
..... fear that even limited support from the Malaysian Cheerleader cannot overcome ....

    GER WD Net.jpg
In contrast, the Germans were fluid and composed. Well up to the final kill, of course, where they make their most mistakes and created a close finish.

GER WD Won1.jpg GER WD Won2.jpg GER WD Won3.jpg GER WD Won4.jpg GER WD Won5.jpg GER WD Won6.jpg
Still, there's no denying a deserved victory ...... look at the ecstacy shown by Johanna Golsizewski

    Germans celebrate2.jpg Germans celebrate1.jpg
..... and so the German camp erupted and celebrated on court.

-I believe the standing ovation was delivered after the INA MD epic victory... leading a 2-1 position :p
-note the 'naughtily' extended arm of CL reaching WSX :D
-who's the INA official shaking hand with LYB? And who's the guy standing beside him?

Thanks Abedeng for the field pics giving some highlights of the stadium atmosphere

Correct me if I am wrong, but that official might be Anton Wibowo. As for the guy behind him (the one in orange shirt with specs)....you really don't know who he is :eek::eek::rolleyes:????????

I bet next time that "another girl" will be sitting between CL and WSX. I think she was assigned by LYB to be there to make sure all players behave. :)

Yeah, but it'll be the same one that was sitting between ZN and ZYL. Bet you she flies everywhere with the team as a minder just for this purpose. :D
