Hi guys, from your experience, which string retains the most tension after a long time of play? I'm currently using BG66UM and BG66F.. Which one of those 2 retains the most and what other strings can retain longer with about the same specs?

You can try Li-Ning No.1 or No.3. I personally feel these 2 string retention much better than yonex BG66.

My vote goes to Li-Ning No. 1, if you prefer thicker strings try BG80. Those two are really good.

BG66UM is the perfect negative example for string retention.

I will definitely give no.1 strings a try. Do I have to pre-stretch this string? If so, by how much?

Be noted some string color will cause the string to run off when smash. White color is the best.

What do you mean by run off? Do you mean the string will move a bit when hit sometimes?

    Some color strings more "oily"/"slippery"

Ah ok. Yeah, I'm currently using BG66UM strung at 25lbs and after 2 days of games, it lost about 0.5lbs

I think I will use 25 or 25.5lbs. I just increased from 24 to 25 on Thursday so.... but thanks for the advice. Oh and do I have to ask the stringer to pre-stretch the string? Or no pre-stretch

No need pre stretch. Try it at 26lbs. Give a try.

After try with 26, you will forget 25.

Ok. If you stay at east side, you can try Smashing Max at bedok. Good string service. Close on Tuesday.

As I always say, BG 66UM is dead in like a week, 66F starts off dead. Neither string has good longevity.

Also that 66UM will have lost more than half a pound in 2 days. It's probably lost more like 2.5lbs, if not a little more.
