Poor guy... Can't the organizers give him a marker to write his name on the shirt?

Hafiz has enough stamina to play (and win!) the 3rd game is indeed the biggest surprise so far in this tournament. :D

And Hafiz not doing many trickshots? Maybe it's true that he did many trickshots before because he didn't have enough stamina.

Thanks for the highlight. Just want to make sure what you meant about the food. You didn't taste the same food there before to make you think it's the best now (?) Rather you had tasted this food elsewhere, but this place did serve the best of them all. If the latter is correct, could it be possible that your mood also helped to impress you with the food? Simple math, maybe 90% food and 10% contribution from seeing some good matches

    In other words..

...Less trickshots = More stamina = Win
    or is it..
...Less trickshots + more stamina = Win

..I think we've found the formula and key for Hafiz regaining his game!..

    Welcome back Hafiz!

Hopefully (dare I say) you can beat Sony!

Choong Hann will want his revenge! What better way to avenge his close defeat in Macau by denying Chen Jin the Olympic spot>?

I agree that rules are set not to be broken....HOWEVER, if we are to promote this sport in the eyes of the world, why should we discouraged new players, new country in such a way??????

Even a piece of paper with his name, stick at the back of his shirt is essential...

I don't think badminton is a popular sport in Iraq, thus, it may be quite difficult to get sponsor for the players, hence....no printed name at the back of the shirt...

i took a day off from work to watch yesterday's matches. arrived at the stadium in the morning and was surprised to see a big crowd already there.

Porntip Buranaprasertsuk performed very well against wcm although she lost. wcm had no answer to porntip's crosscourt smashes.

i found the malaysian fans were very supportive of their players. whenever the malaysian player(s) were to play on a particular court, the fans would shift their positions and crowd around that court. :) the malaysian supporters definitely inspired wch and hafiz.

lcw looked kinda stressed playing on home ground despite the crowd cheering him on. boonsak was quite patient with his play and lcw's smashes rarely troubled boonsak's excellent defence.

They gave him one chance the first time and warned him he would be disqualified the second time if he did not have his name on his shirt. He tried his luck a second time and lost.

    Fri matches

Yesterday was an exhausting day though there were fewer matches to watch. But it's my third day at the ABC so I suppose I can feel for LCW now this cumulative fatigue effect.
1.Hafiz played well against Sony but Sony won because he played better maybe because he's fresher. There were quite a few points when Hafiz thought the point was his except Sony played an extra shot and won.I'm delighted to note that Hafiz's attitude and game have been great and augurs well for MAS 's TC challenge. He is definitely on his way back despite his loss to Sony. The match was a lot closer than what the score suggested. To Hafiz, I say, keep up the hard work, the road is gonna be rough, keep at it and don't look back.(By the way, Hafiz looks impressively trim now.)
2.WCH is in better form this year compared to last year. He's in great shape and I wouldn't worry about his loss to CJ.He looks great in black. (Thank goodness, no more whites. Or maybe it's the design.)
3.LD won because he was gifted more generously by LHI.(compared to LCW in SWO) There was no reason for LHI to be off-form. His previous matches were easy but he gifted LD some 80% of his points.LD was tense at the beginning and true to his standard operating procedure, he gave the umpire an early test to check whether he would be beholden to him. He questioned two good calls, got booed by the crowd and realised this was no HKO umpire.LD moved on and couldn't believe his luck when LHI put in little effort to do damage. I leave it to you to figure out why LHI played the way he did. (My belief is that things are not as simple as it looks.)
4.This was a match BP should have won but lost because he underestimated PSH.With LD and LCW, BP knows he 's safer trying to take them out in 3, so he usually let go G2 after winning G1. BP thought he would be able to take him out in 2.Well, PSH displayed great fighting spirit as BP held matchpoints and knew he can win in 3, since BP had a tough match with LCW the previous round.PSH also shows he can win big without LM around to guide him, just the KOR coach.I'm sad for BP but happy for PSH. He deserves the win. Will he have enough against Sony who's been cruising and hungry? One never knows with PSH.
By the way, Sealman, thanks for pitching in.
Well, I couldn't make it for SF and F because of the traffic jam so hopefully someone else can fill in.

LHI doesn't seem in good form as the shots he failed to save doesn't seem that hard. He also made tons of errors. He doesn't show any fighting spirit. LD didn't do much and already won comfortably. But I prefer not to believe any "conspiracy" possibility...
