Speed of Taufik's backhand

    I thought it was clocked at 240 km/h at the 2006 world championship when he played against Chen Hong.

    I think, that it's just possible, only thing I read was that his backhand was clocked over 200 km/h. Although I'm pretty sure that it won't be any faster then 240/250 km/h. And i also think, that Taufik doesn't hit it that hard as in 'The Good Old Days' when he was Olympic Champion and World Champion.

    The famous backhand era of straight backhand smashes came after those days....except maybe the backhand at the Thomas Cup 2004, and some backhand smashing at the WC2005.

    Whether u guys agree or not..if u guys really watch badminton,he's the best backhand smasher in the world.Nobody in the world top10 can even do backhand smash like that.Sadly,nobody..

    Back in the late 70's, I remember there was a Danish player who had an incredible backhand smash. His name was Fleming Delf (sp?). I think he won All England in 1977(?)

    Too bad no youtube videos back then...
