It is definitely not for decoration purposes. And no, most badminton courts, even the high ends one we don't prefer with air conditioning, it affects the game and makes us more easily prone to "catching a cold" hahaha. The towel is indeed handy, but after you wipe yourself dry, try the paper fan, it works wonders. And to Sgbad, i learnt this in China and it is definitely Not an "Old man/Uncle" thing to do here.....though i would like to learn from your old man you mentioned hahahaha
sgbad, tckang, pardon my ignorance but the fact that i play tennis (outdoor, that is, of course) more is due to the fact that i hate air-conditioned 16 or 8 court arenas and even smaller 4 court halls. it kills my workout purpose, to sweat it out (aside from the obvious reason that i like the game). as for the paper fan, i don't think its an uncle thing--well, eventually we are gonna turn into uncle in due course if we continue to love playing this game until we hit our ''uncle years'', won't we? btw, what age is uncle years? ha ha.
In Malaysia, after 50 and ones still play actively on court, we normally regard him as "God" level.....Normally we stay away from those "Godly" uncles. I have personally seen one such Godly uncle make a state player young gun literally "eat S***" in less than 15 minutes, 21-12, and without a single smash!!! You should see the facial reaction and body language of that state player after the match hehehehehe MAJOR EGO CRUSH!!! They have deadly accurate 4 corner play in singles and unimaginable drop shots......Guess after so many years of playing helps.... I am sure many countries too have such kind of "Godly uncles" ....
totally agree as i hv seen firsthand the devastation 'they' can do w their 'four corners of the world' routine so smoothly and precisely that even well rounded young guns looks like their apprentices. however, my observation says, their smashes have to contend with the 'laws of diminishing returns' but all in all 'the four corners of the world' routine cuts like a knife. MetalOrange p.s. could that mean--u r forewarning kids to stay away from you once you hit 'godly uncle' years (which btw is a long ways to go yet, BUT!). he he.
Nice try there MetalOrange Well, i think i will be more of a "lousy uncle" with a nice shiny 802AI bag (which i doubt will last that long) hahahahahaha
tckang, why does 'godly uncles' seldom seen carrying their godly bags? they don't need that many rackets? btw, normally i just watch the 'godly uncles' for fun when time permitting. but since our chat. i emphatically tried to spot the 'godly-like' ones and observed the reactions of the kids they schooled. and true to their namesake, they'd do their usual precise four-corners-of-the-world routine and smooth drops. but what i saw in the kids eyes after they have had enough spanking from the god-likes were not the agony of defeat nor humiliation. they have this: ''you just wait there till i gain some more experience and i'll do to you what you did to me'' kinda look. you probably know what i mean. funny but true. the god-likes should just hang up their rackets and stop humiliating the kids--if they can help it. afterall the kids got better looking bags! he he he. MetalOrange
Err ...they don't have that much retirement funds? Yeah, i know that "vengeful" look hehehehe. Was one of them too hahahahaa Nah, We need these kind of "uncles" for a good show on the courts, beside, can really learn a thing or 2 from them actually.
