LYD/KJG, as well as KSH/SBC are not completely ruled out yet, they just need some really good results. SSJ is currently Korea's only hope in MD and XD, so wise of them not to mess it up. I did not think they would completely bar him when the news came out.
Not much hope of anything considering Seo and his partners are not allowed to train together. The other thing to note is that the only national team doubles pair entered in the Swiss Open is Choi/Shin. Perhaps the BKA is hedging its bets, hoping to have Choi/Shin as a plan B, so that they could theoretically choose a national team pair instead of Seo or Ko. That might be realistic in MD, where Kang/Kim are still barely ahead of the Thais and Na/Wang are right up there too. But in XD, Choi/Shin only have two events in hand, they are 20,000 points behind Lamsfuss/Herttrich, and they haven't shown they can beat anyone of substance since that one final back in 2018.

The suspension will have to he served afterwards. I suspect he is aiming for a medal, so that BKA might lift the ban.
If I recall correctly, he would serve it after the Olympics. Maybe the wording is such that it allows him to serve it after the dates they were supposed to be held... Would've be too bad of an idea.
Wow! The first player in over 20 years to win both MD & XD at the WC. What a special player he has become. In XD he already reach the China open final and also in the running in MD SF later today. In XD during the WC, they had never beaten the top Chinese pair in the past 9 meetings! But during the WC campaign, on their way they beat them and the top Japanese pair as well to become World Champions! God knows how they improved so much. They even beat the top Chinese XD pair again in their home turf in China Open and in now in the final!
