    'round here....
If you like BG66UM, you should give Li Ning No. 1 and Adidas Überschall F66 a try. Both stay playable for a longer time. Another option might be Gosen G-TONE 5, the illegitimate child of BG80 and BG66UM. A fun string with great sound.

I can highly recommend trying out the Victor VBS series.
The 63, 66 Nano and 68 all offer good repulsion, great control and durability (when compared to similarly thin strings).

The obvious alternative to the BG66UM would be the Li Ning No. 1, as @speCulatius already said, imo superior to the 66UM in pretty much every aspect.
I also like the No. 5 a lot, it is basically a thicker version of the No. 1 which still offers very good repulsion and pretty much never breaks (at least not before I cut it after a few months).

Hybrid of G-Tone 5 and ZM62Fire. Control, repulsion, touch, tension retention, and durability. You have to try it at least once!

LN#1 are close to BG66UM, just abit more slippery but more durable.
VBS66N, abit less repulsive than BG66UM, cant say much. Its been awhile so kinda forgot how it feel.
Kizuna D61 also had good repulsion if you interest.

It depends what you are looking for.
    Repulsion: 63 > 68 > 66 Nano
    Control: 63 > 66 Nano > 68
    Hitting Sound: 63 > 66 Nano > 68
    Durability: 68 > 66 Nano > 63
The 68 has a harder feeling to it and a rougher surface, if you like BG80 I would recommend this one. The other two had a medium feel, not as soft as No. 1 or 66UM, but less hard than BG80 or VBS 68.

All three were more than decent at holding tensions and longevity was great, not as good as the Li Ning No. 1 or 5 (after settling in), but way better than the 66 Ultimax.
