I would say get a more flexible racquet. The flex on the racquet depends on your swing speed. So if you have a slow swing speed, a more flexible racquet will be able to compensate by easily bending back and hitting the shuttle.

A stiffer frame seems more suitable for a powerful swinger because the extra flex is not needed. The advantage comes in because there is more resistance from the stiff shaft, so when the powerful player is able to swing and flex the shaft, the shaft actually produces more power quickly flexing back towards the shuttle.

    Hope this helps,

Light and flexable so the MP88, or TiSP SA would both be good choices. Possibly an AT700 although rated as stiff I think it is quite flexable

more flexible rackets, i agree. and don't string too high a tension either, if you are weak, then 20-22lbs is the max you should go.

The thing that helps the most if you are not a powerfull person is TECHNIQUE, if you have the proper stroke you will excell in your smashes compared to power players.

The thing that aids in this is the racket head speed, ie. the lighter the racket the faster you can move it through the air (in theory anyway). The more flexability the shaft has means that the power transfer is better compared to a stiffer shaft. Also as Kwun pointed out the more loose the strings (within reason) the bigger the sweet spot or maximal hitting area on the racket string bed.

All of these things combined will give you a better smash.

Light and flex racket can help ur swing speed, which will make up the shorage of "power". Also, u might consider the head heaviness, too. Over head heavy might be a drawback to u, too.

Kwun is right about the tension. 20-22 sounds good for optimal choice for "not strong" players.
