Thanx for the list! It really helps. By putting together this list and some of my own, I have come to the conclusion that the Yonex T-10 is the most populer racquet among professional players! I thought that it would have been the Yonex MP 77.
Jens Eriksen: Forza Ti Tech 1400
Peter Rasmussen: Carlton AS-1
Lars Paaske: Yonex MP-77
Kenneth Jonassen: Fukuda (don't know which one)
Kasper Oedum: Forza Ti Tech 1400
Anders Boesen: Forza Ti Tech 1400
Mette Schjoldager: Yonex Ti-10
Martin Lundgaard-Hansen: Yonex Ti-10
Jim Laugesen: Yonex Ti-10
Rasmus Wengberg: MP-100
Marina Andrievskaya: MP-100
Didn't Hendrawan switch to MP100? I thought, I had seen him playing with the MP100 during the Copenhagn Masters end of last year.
And what about Gopi? Did he already switch back from MP70 to his iso600?
Honestly I think, that the MP70 hype with all this news, that players like Gade, Hidayat, Xuanze, Gopichand would switch to it, was just made up by yonex, to boast the MP70 . In case of the MP100 their marketing strategy worked out really successful with Chandra & Tony winning the Olympics. But which pro has made his decision for the MP70, because he actually liked this racket? Gade is still playing his good 'ol slim10, Taufik did always switch back to his cab20 tour in crucial situations, Xia is still playing cab20. And have a look at the recent Japan Open. It seems that yonex has paid a lot of pros to play with the new MP90 right when it's introduced to the public. I always loved to play with the same rackets like the pros, but regarding yonex's marketing tricks, it's really getting hard work to keep up right now...
Looks like Eriksen switched to Yonex. I just read an article in the malaysian online paper "thestar", where a picture clearly showed the yonex logo on his racket's strings. But maybe he's just switched his sponsor and is still playing with his forza racket.
the nic switch, is it dual personalities? or to forget an evil past?
kidding aside, i think there is no advantage of using iso or mp by the pros.
they can hit the sweetspot everytime so the big area of iso and mp just adds to air resistance. The bigger area do help in doubles when returning super fast smashes.
Mia is currently under contract with Winex and she uses the Ti Swing Power which Winex has also released limited editions (two versions) known as the Ti-01 Limited Edition (MA and MS which are equivalent to the Ti SP SA and the Ti SP SS).
Well spotted, Olli. Jens has been a Forza player for a looong time, so I was quite surprised to see that he is on a new contract with Yonex. I guess that Yonex finally offered him a check that was fat enough... I wonder what triggered them? He's been top 10 in both doubles and mixed for years, so why sign him now and not earlier? Hmmm... maybe it's because his partners, Martin Lundgaard-Hansen in doubles and Mette Schjoldager in mixed also have Yonex contracts.
Also another thing, Halim and Trikus Haryanto are both using Cab rackets now. COuldn't tell exactly which 1. But Halim is no longer using the MP77. Similarly Trikus is no longer using his Ti-10
Probably the Cab20 muscle, as all other cab rackets have already been available before and it wouldn't make any sense, if they suddenly switched to a racket, with which they could have already played before.
