they waited until All England was over to fix the date for the hearing..

i guess all stakeholders met in Birmingham already and talked things over.

Sorry 4 the late reply bro.

As far as for any medico-legal cases is concern, MMC would only initiate an investigation if there is an official complaint (written) sent to them by the complainer.

However, if MMC also founds out that any of it's registered practitioner is also guilty for any other non medico-legal cases e.g civil cases, MMC also would proceed in initiating an investigation to determine what relevant disciplinary action should be given to that practitioner.

That poor doctor... he may as well shut his practice and move to another country, like China or Canada...

He would not survive in China - even the average lay person has heard of Lee Chong Wei. Canadians may not be so discerning....LOL.

I wonder what the poor doctor will say in Amsterdam, assuming LCW and him signed an immunity deal (ie, no compliant to MMC and no civil lawsuit against him).

Will he take all the blame? Will he say he doesn't know why dexa is still inside LCW after 6 or 7 weeks?

For sure the private doctor will not say that he doesn't know as to safeguard the remaining professional credibility that he has after what has happen for this past many months. To where does the finger is going to point for taking the blame, for sure as well the private doctor is going to be part of the equation while the remaining part of should be the NSC medical team as well.

For LCW, the prolonged waiting and delay is killing him , worse than the execution itself.

I think the best outcome for him, realistically speaking, is a one-year ban which may be a blessing in disguise. First, his career and Olympic dream is alive. Second, the enforced rest, a much-needed break for him actually, will do much good in recharging and revitalizing him once the ban is over.

For sure, we will see a different LCW, whether better or worse, he's never going to be the same again.

^ 1 yr ban would mean not competing until Nov 2015... would he still be able to qualify for Rio 2016? I suppose so but as a really low seeding...

well, with no ranking points to start with he will needed to play in the lower t'ments to gain points.

the current MS No 100 has about 17,500 pts, I don't think that will get him onto the reverse lists even for Grand Prix or Grand Prix Gold t'ments.

The next one down is Intl Challenge with 4,000 pts for winner and 2,500 pts for Intl Series. So, 4 or 5 titles from them woulbn't be enough to get him into the top 100, thus reserve for the higher pts t'ments.

Based on previous qualifications top 100 probably can get you into the OLY, but that means to sacrifice all your teammates that qualified ahead of you.

I thought it would be from the last competition that he was found to have confirmed the drug test. Which is... last September, Asian Games. No?

i haven't looked at the rules for tournaments but are the organisers allowed to give one or two invites? Because sometimes, we see really low ranked players make the qualifiers of superseries events.

Which tournament would give up a chance of having LCW in their midst.

and the 'Lower' t'ment is quite hard to win physically, just have a look of the just finished Austrian Open 2015 (4000 pts for winner). there were 64 players and 3 rounds of qualifications in 1 day, then 5 more rounds for the title!

Iirc it's from around the time the results were publicly announced... in late October iirc. He was officially provisionally suspended by BWF on Nov 11.

A user named "event" correctly pointed out a few pages back that the BWF's press release on 11 Nov 2014 stated that LCW "has been" suspended. I then looked up the rules and it does seem likely that LCW was provisionally suspended in October 2014.

LCW, iirc, "voluntarily" withdrew from competition in early or mid-October. I don't know if that would be the date when he is officially provisionally suspended. Maybe voluntary withdrawal is the same as voluntary acceptance of provisional suspension. I don't know. In any event, it's just a difference of a few days.

As for whether LCW can keep his Asian Games ranking points and prize money, here's the rule:

10.8 Disqualification of results in Competitions subsequent to Sample collection or Commission of an Anti-Doping Rule Violation

"In addition to the automatic Disqualification of the results in the Competition which produced the positive Sample under Regulation 9 (Automatic Disqualification of Individual Results), all other competitive results obtained from the date a positive Sample was collected (whether In-Competition or Out-of-Competition), or other doping violation occurred, through the commencement of any Provisional Suspension or Ineligibility period, shall, unless fairness requires otherwise, be Disqualified with all of the resulting Consequences including forfeiture of any medals, points and prizes. "
