I live in Yorba Linda and looking for a reasonable place to play badminton. I used to play a lot in HS and am a decent player. City of Orange and Irvine are expensive, I think. Isn't there other places that is resaonable? Does Cerritos HS still have free badminton? What about Cypress/La Palma. I went there some 10 years ago but forgotten which HS it was. What about Fullerton? Does CSUF offers badminton play? ANyone knows?

Any suggestion will be greatly appreciated. Thanks

    Hey bro,

On sundays from 5-8 and thurs 6-9 there is badminton at the rec center by bolsa grande high school. Its $5 for the first time and $3 each time after that. Cypress HS is closed now that badminton season is over... and their coach is out of town at the moment. CSUF has hours too... but I have no idea what they are... I just heard they have hours from a friend who went for their team. Cypress College has hours too... but again I don't know when... sorry. Hope this helps.

Thanks badshuttler and Dinkalot. I will definitely check out these 2 places. Irvine has a free play this Fri. Hey, nothing can beat "free". So most likely I will be the this Friday.

    $1 for entry.:D

Thanks Viper2005. I went to Walnut on Tuesdays and I can't go on Sats. I like to play at least twice a week, so was hoping to find another place for Thur. Fri and Sun. It appears I have to pay to play for the love of the game.....hehehe.

I also found out City of Alhambra community center off Almansor has free badminton but the courts and lighting are bad. Especially the lighting. Hey, we should not complain when it's free eh? But a hell of a long drive for me.

Anyone going to Irvine tomorrow night?

There's a place to play across the street from Bolsa Grande HS.
I think they play wednesday evenings 7-10pm.

    Hey guys,

Here's a link to the rec center I mentioned. Click the link for the schedule to find the times. Apparently they changed the badminton hours to only mornings and sunday nights. No more Thurs nights =[.

As for directions, I see you're in Anaheim where I'm at. lol...

Go SOUTH on Magnolia, LEFT on Westminster, LEFT on Deodara

or if you prefer Brookhurst: Go SOUTH on Brookhurst, RIGHT on Westminster, RIGHT on Deodara

Deodara is the street between Bolsa Grande HS and the park. Go all the way to the end and you'll see the place.

    Hope that helps. Enjoy.

    Hey

I'm new to OC - living near Anaheim - and was wondering if anybody was interested in playing some badminton or could direct me to some local clubs or sessions? Advanced standard preferred but honestly just happy to have a hit and a run around to get the heart rate going.

    Many thanks in advance :)
