I just found this on e78 and I'm seriously not sure if they are preparing an April fool's joke or what this acutally is. Never read a single word about this upcoming(?) racket at all. And yeah, I know that the racket is probably named after Dong Jiong (it's him on the pictures, right?) but still.... a Thruster Dong with Flash Shaft.... come on... Pictures taken from: https://e78.us/Victor-Thruster-K-DONG Looking at the specs only, I would put it very close to the TK9900. It seems to have a compact head and it interesting to see that they have given it ZF2-like grommet strips at the bottom.
i saw it last may, e78 had 2 pieces in stock. china exclusive and it came out early 2016 according to forum members. it was rated at 4/5 HH and 5/5 stiff. chinese forum may be having it. it was chinese market exclusive and had a cloth bag with red fabric. stiffness alone told me it was a zf2 by victor before tk9900 mk3 came out
Oh boy... how could I have missed that?! I'm getting old it seems... I've changed the thread title so it's clear that this is definitely not a new racket of any sort. One have to wonder what happened to some of the techs that came with this racket though. GTX, grommet strips at the bottom... both never saw the light of day in any other Victor racket afaik.
i believe, thruster onigiri had something of that definitely bottom grommet strips, flash shaft, nmot sure about GTX but this racket did came along with onigiri if i remember it right. otherwise, a tremendous looker.
Until very recently, @shreyas666 kept telling me to get one but I could never find it in stock. Always wondered how it would have been. Maybe like a cross between ZF2 and TK9900.
I think I've only just dry-swung an unstrung onigiri at klajeet's but that's about it so can't relate.
Apparently this is in stock in india. So have placed an order. Also, I have my zf2 and vt80 etune coming up next week. All 3 u. Wil let you know about the details.
The racket is being introduced in India. Weirdly, they have reduced the prices. Don't know if they have toned down the strength of materials or not. I am speaking about quality. It's almost the half available at the half price as was stated at e78 few years ago. All in all I have no benchmark. It might be a toned down racket. Let's see
What would be the sense of making a fake of a racket that never really existed? But still, it makes you wonder why that old stuff all of a sudden pops up out of literally nowhere. Weird.
Previously owned a 4U TK-Dong before. It plays similar to VTZF2 in its semi oval frame and slim 6.4mm shaft. Solid, stiff and head heavy and pretty fast in defence but can be a little demanding at times. It is solid feeling and powerful but slightly less solidness than VTZF2. The feel is kinda muzzled though with little vibration than usual. Overall great value and performance racket. A good alternative to VTZF2 with a little compromise in solidness but slight improvement in defence.
Sir.. Is there any updates on Victor TK Dong after using it ?. In India Victor is offering it at a lower price compared to Chinese market. Kindly post your reviews about this product , so that it would be a guideline for me. I was using voltric 7 so far. After reading this thread, got interested in TK Dong..How's your experience? Kindly help me. Curvy ,shreyas666,
