Kevin Han will be facing Puellela Gophichand in the next round of WC.
Any comments or thoughts on the outcome?

IMHO, USA could get squashed. but then again anything can happen in this sport.

kevin Han probably saw tapes of gophichand (gobi) but gobi don't know anything about kevin. But it's likely that gobi will take the match.

What the heck... Kevin Han actually bt Johan Hadikusuma. Fine, I know the Indonesian isn't great but I would at least expect a victory from him!

Not meant as an insult to Kevin or America.

    Kevin Han

There is a video interview of Kevin Han located at:

    http://www.broadcast.com/sports_events/interviews/yahoo__interviews_kevin_han/

He mostly talks about badminton basics for a badminton-ignorant viewer, but gives a bit of biographical discussion and mentions that he became friends with NBA Phoenix Suns basketball player, Kevin Johnson, who has now picked up badminton.

A reasonably good biography of Han can be found at:

    http://sydney2000.nbcolympics.com/?/bios/bd/han__kev/han__kevbio_01.html

And finally, an ok story on Han is at:

    http://cnews.tribune.com/news/story/0,1162,wbdc-sports-77203,00.html

Has Han ever beat any of the higher ranked, more famous badminton pros?

I actually have mixed feelings about the upcoming Kevin (Qi) Han VS Pullela Gopichand match.

If Qi is as good as everyone says he is, then he should put up a good fight but if Gopichand plays as well as he did at the All England, Qi can forget it. He can pack his bags and go home.

I mean Gopichand beat Ji Xinpeng, Chen Hong and even Peter Gade at the All England in straight sets. So if you ask me, its unlikely that Qi will be able to get very far

He used to train in Denver with his wife cindy who also play for USA now. Currently he train in Los Angeles area. His fitness is fairly good compare to new malaysian players. He also have a pretty strong fighting spirit. Its a good experience in WC for him.

Gopichand will blast Kevin Han out. Bar none. No offense to the USA team...although I might play for them in the future if I train hard enough...
