If there is any consolation, there's no other way to go than while doing what you love doing best.

Badminton Community Bids Farewell to Kido
    Tuesday, June 15, 2021
TEXT BY DEV SUKUMAR | BADMINTONPHOTO
    https://olympics.bwfbadminton.com/news-single/2021/06/15/badminton-community-bids-farewell-to-kido/

Former Olympic champion Markis Kido, who succumbed to a heart attack yesterday aged 36, was a bundle of energy on court and an equally lively presence off it.

Kido had just started playing at a sports hall when the tragedy occurred. Among those who rushed to his aid was former Olympic champion Candra Wijaya.

The shocked badminton fraternity struggled to come to terms with the loss. Hendra Setiawan, with whom he established a highly successful partnership, said: “My deepest condolences for one of my best partners in joy and sorrow… he was one of the most extraordinary and talented players… I want to say thank you for being a good partner in winning or losing… thank you to have partnered me from scratch and we both worked hard for 14 years. Thank you Kido and goodbye.”

    =========================================================

    - Really shocking and terrible news, hard to believe:( Kido/Setiawan are one of world's best MD pairs in late 2000's alongside Cai/Fu, Jung/Lee, Koo/Tan.

Idiots - yes - always a number of them around behind the keyboard

Christian Eriksen (Denmark football) was attended to on the football pitch by Anders Boesen who I think was once a top five singles badminton player. Anders is a doctor with resuscitation skills - well he must be if he is the pitch side doctor.

I just wonder. Did they do CPR and AED for him?

very sad affair indeed. otoh just read about Anders and Marten Boessen on the news, never noticed them

according to C. Wijaya, after Kido collapsed he try to put him in a sit down position and give him water but then noticed he didn't responding. so they try to do CPR . Idk about AED but maybe they did that in hospital

I'm just wondering if AED is commonly available at exercise facilities in Indonesia. Because in North America it is a requirement as it is life saving when used immediately along with CPR before the ambulance can get there.

    Kido's last moments of life.

The Legendary shuttler was enjoying his time on the court, with his friends, leading 15-8 in the game before succumbing to an unexpected heart attack.

If a civilian calls an ambulance, that IS the correct response.

If you're trained in CPR as well, gravy.

And that is why CPR and AED is so critical in the first 2 minutes. Before even the ambulance can arrive which usually takes at least 5 minutes, by which time chance of recovery diminishes significantly if the person has no pulse

You don't even need to respirate, even just chest compressions alone are enough. And if AED is available, bonus.
