Two back-up pairs selected to play in Korean Open
KUALA LUMPUR: Two back-up men's doubles pairs – Mohd Fairuzizuan Mohd Tazari-Lin Woon Fui and Ong Soon Hock-Tan Bin Shen – have been selected for the Korean Open from Jan 25-30 in Incheon City. But a third pair for Malaysia will be decided after a trial on Thursday.
Yesterday, the national doubles chief coach Yap Kim Hock said he would conduct a special trial for world junior champions Tan Boon Heong-Hoon Thien How, Gan Teik Chai-Mohd Zakry Abdul Latif, Lok Chong Hong-Ong Soon Chiang and Jack Koh-Tan Zhao Rong.
Two other pairs – Choong Tan Fook-Chew Choon Eng and Chan Chong Ming-Koo Kien Keat – will stay home to sharpen their skills. Their international assignments will begin with the All-England in March.
