The stadium may not be classy like Spore but the tournament atmosphere is richer. There's a lot of freedom to move around and meet the players and coaches (during meal or teh tarik breaks) Teh tarik is terrific and food is kampong-like, meaning cheap and good. Jennifer and I will be there Wed to catch the MS matches esp CL vs TH and Jennifer hopes to have a photo taken with her idol LCW. I 'm not sure about my camera skills using her camera but should be ok lah. Friday onwards we might brave the traffic jams to go over and give support to some underdogs.
Ok thanks jasonmarc & pjswift. I'll most certainly go there on the weekends. I'm sick with badminton fever.
relax there will be live on astro this weekend Yonex Sunrise Malaysia Open GP Gold 2009 27 June 1400 Semi Finals (Live) 28 June 1500 Finals (Live)
Really???? WOW!! I never got to met the players when it is held in Bukit Jalil. The place too big and empty. Cannot see player hanging out for teh tarik.
Finals start at 3pm. Ticket price is RM30 at the counter, there some Yonex sunrise items on sale as well, but the design this year are not as awesome as the All england 2006.
Actually, I walked from the Immigration Complex to the stadium. It takes roughly 10 to 15 mins. I think that beats walking to City Square and taking a taxi.
SS = Super Series GP = Grand Prix The GP is a lesser tournament than the SS (Super Series). A Super Series event must offer at least USD 200,000 in total prize money. A Grand Prix event is one that offers prize money of more than USD 50,000. USD 50,000 or more = Grand Prix USD 120,000 or more = Grand Prix Gold
Last game of the day I can't believe it's over so fast. LCW walking to the court, pict 1. LCW walking to collect the cheque, pict 2.
