That's a good point. Nevertheless, we have been relying on oil for quite some time, and when it runs dry, it will take some getting used to. For starters, we have to get used to unsubsidised petrol and GST. But back to the original point, at this point of time, we are running low on cash. Hence, the levies on credit cards.
Thanks for the pics.. ..thanks nokh88, takeshi & hcyong for capturing and sharing the pics w/us & sharing some tidbits on the tourney!..any more to share??..
Tedious, please advise. I didn't take many photos. Not very skillful cameras. Btw, please advise how to re-size the photos. After transferring from the camera, the pictures are too large to be posted. Which & what software to use. Thanks.
While we say we are running low on cash, we embarked on that F1 Lotus thingy. Definitely sponsoring and running a F1 team is gonna cost a bomb annually. It is definitely gonna cost much more than developing badminton etc. While many companies have pulled out of F1, we are jumping in .... so much for running low on cash.
Do you want my honest opinion or my 'feel good everyone can syiok sendiri boleh' opinion? Tell you what, bro? I will give you both. Honest opinion, Mak/Tan, they are just average. They wont make the cut. By that I mean win a SS outside Malaysia. They will be a journeymen pair or thereabouts. Feel good syiok sendiri opinion, Mak/Tan, they are still young and developing. Given more exposure, travel time and proper guidance, they can make it.
You can try and download IrfanView, its a free Image viewing and editing program that can batch resize pics as well... give it a shot, its nice...
For these.. ..if you count WS players, i can give 2 names: Wang Yihan (won the 2008 Japan Open SS when she was 20 y.o.) and Wang Shixian (won the 2009 CHN Masters SS when she was only 19 y.o.).. ..from what you posted, the pics look fine. For your query, i only have 2 suggestions: First, which i've used the most is to use the already installed Microsoft Paint program to reduce/resize the pics (Start->Accessories->Paint). You can use the Stretch/Skew option under Image pulldown (i use the same percentage number for horizontal & vertical).. Downside, though, if you reduce the size, the resolution will be affected. Second option is below (i'll just paste to save time in typing):
Sir, looked fine because I right click on the pictures and send e-mail, it will prompt me to select resolution and I picked 600 x 800, sent to myself and received it and uploaded to BadCentral. That's why I say troublesome and tedious. I will try your suggestion and kenny7's later. Thanks.
I use ACD pictures. Just click on the photo, choose resize to 300 or 400+ kb size, save. Then can upload
Off topic-Will the batch conversion option solve the problem??.. ..as far as i know, there is no 1 or 2 or even 3 steps conversion option to resize & upload the pics out there. If there is, i'd definitely tell you in advance. However, if you're referring to the batch conversion option (to select and reduce several files at one time), then yes, there are programs to do that. Yes, IrfanView (which is a freeware, just search, download & install), which i've also used and that ACDSee program have that feature (other programs you can use are XnView, FastStone Image Viewer, FastPictureViewer). For IrfanView, all you do is go to File->Batch Conversion/Rename...and then you do all the work in there (click on Set Advanced Option button to set your final file size). It should resize all the selected pics in one go. However, if you have pictures which are oriented vertically, then you may have to do them separately. Yes, it's still tedious and all, but i think it will save you a lot of time rather than opening and resizing the files one by one. Note also, if you resize/reduce, the resolution will reduce as well. So, if you want to maintain a higher resolution, then you may have to use the 2nd method i've mentioned above. You can also save time in doing the resizing the picture by just uploading whatever file size pictures you have to a photo storage site like Webshots.com. From there, once uploaded, they'll give you options to choose different sizes to post them on a forum. But yes, still many steps/tedious to do... Good luck!
Hmm.. .."the most competitive" event??..WS not competitive mah??.. or probably "the most exciting" event??..
