Don't know how many are aware worldwide but rioting across London and other parts country tonight (3rd day), football matches will all be cancelled, could be a threat to WC continuing.

If this was another country a year ahead of Olympics I'm sure British press would be calling for it to be moved...

I just hope everyone who is going (hopefully i will still be able to go on Saturday- going to park in the carpark) has the good sense to stay smart and stay safe. Understandably it may be cancelled if it affects the Wembley area, I really hope it isn't though.

They have already cancelled football matches in london, while the badminton doesn't need significant police presence like football there must be concerns. When you think ENG flew home from India amid security concerns re terrorist threat you can imagine there being problems.

maybe the English team will skip this year's WC and hide in Milton Keynes for the duration. ;)

Maybe some slightly better news, massive police presence in Ealing- given there's also supposed to be the Football England vs Holland on tomorrow, it looks like they're focusing on keeping near Wembley clear.

Is London riot will affect to the security in this WC and ( probably OG 2012)

As some of us probably aware of the latest situation in London right now, the riot couldn't have come at the worst time as this WC event still progress in London. I hope everything is ok. But this gonna affect the preparation for OG 2012 for sure...

I think it should be safe enough

But People may think twice about travelling across london to watch so the attendance may be reduced.

    Yes, I think so too.

Too bad for some of us who already bought a ticket to watch latter stages of this event.

Hopefully this chaos will end up soon

I don't think it will affect our beloved Badminton tournament, if these holigans come near me when I am at Wembley Arena, then I'll use my rackets to chase them off!

Racquets won't be a threat to the hooligans, rockets will!:)

...it's been sport's (football's) uncivil ways since time immemorial. The unruly destruction leading to social unrest bordering on treason is/was never to be subdued once it started it's origin a long way back. It's a pity.:( We just have to contend with it and hope for the best.

I think it will depend on what development the next nights will be (But i don´t think it will come to wembley, but you never know).....I hope police can shut down these riots or at least secure people from becoming victims.

10000 extra policemen have been deployed throughout, expecting a 4th nite of rioting.

So far the Badminton World Championships is going ahead as planned, as reported by BBC. But football matches remain cancelled.
