LD played AE and SO this year, made it to QF both time, lost to good proven players. TH on another hand, lost to JOJ in 1st round 2010 MO, lost to Yamada in 2nd round 2010 SO. If u can't tell the difference, then i can't help u.

It's true. Because Gade is like a veteran now, he is a wise uncle and doesn't have as much problems with nerves.

Anyone seen LD play? Is he trying out new strokes because age catching up . . . . I remember Chen Hong (China previous No 1) also changes his way of playing (more trick shots) towards his later half of badm career.

This is one thing I agree with you. I would rather have a consistent player who is not performing very well lately opposed to a crazy yoyo. Lin Dan has performed better than Taufik Hidayat, who is already near the bottom of the hill. No offense...

    TH
SSMF didn't even win a match
    MO 1st round
AE Quarter-Finals (This one was actually decent, but he got dragged by Hu Yun in the 1st round)
    SO 2nd round (Kazushi Yamada!?)

    hhhhmmmmm the conclution is:

    1. LCW is the best player now because he win in AE 2010....even LD is not as good as LCW.... LCW the great
    2. LD is the best player ever, his lost is just an accident
    3. PG is good player cos he can beat TH in a classic match at AE...beating LD at SO is just an accident and blessing
    4. TH is the worst player ever since he lost to LCW,LD and PG now....even he win Olympic Gold, Asian Games Gold twice, reach AE Final in 17th,and to be the most entertaining technique and style...he is the worst cost he has almighty BH

Long Life LCW...Long Life LD.....but for me TH and PG is the most entertaining player today

The writing was on the wall when he lost in the finals of the East Asian Games and then decided to skip the MO knowing he was not ready.......but looks like he is still not ready............will he be ready? (for TC)

    Holy shuttlecock,

PG made the American media/marketing saying comes true,

    '30s is the new 20s.' :D

PG Mental thinking never ceases to amaze me, age is no excuse to PG.

If you compare these 4 greats in their prime, TH and LD would probably be the most dominant.

No....LD is the best, but the greatest ever is LCW cos he win AE @100th edtion....that will last forever :D:D:D:D

TH should retired, cos even he could win Super series or other tournament...he will not satisfy LD and LCW fanboy.....and he still not as great as LCW cos he never win AE at 100th edition

    I hope you are joking.
At his prime, TH won Olympic Gold and WC.
LD won Olympic Gold, don't know how many WCs and AEs
    LCW won one 100th AE
Not sure about Peter but he has one AE too, same as LCW

Isn't LD and TH the most dominant? Even though for now, TH is taking lessons from the Fuzzy pair and Hafiz Hashim...

tell u the truth, i never heard of eastern games before until the tournament came up last year. It seem to be the lowest of low profile games in term of badminton significant. Also, china is a shoe-in winner. What is the point of LD owning a title for this event? China won it with ease anyway. Would 114 gold for china makes any difference?? i bet LD didn't even bother to re-string his racket for this event as I saw him change his racket around midway.

    ......gold. silver.bronze
    CHN 113 73 46 232
    JPN 62 58 70 190
    KOR 39 45 59 143
    HKG 26 31 53 110
    TPE 8 34 47 89
    MAC 8 9 12 29
    PRK 6 8 11 25
    MGL 0 4 16 20
    GUM 0 0 1 1

if u watch the match, LD lost because he was just entertaining, lot of lifts for choi to smash down on, lots of short cut higher risk trick shots. He prolly jumpsmashed less than 6 times in the whole match, and ALL smashes were 50-60% power. After a bad line call on latter 2nd game, he didn't bother to go on. Ya, LD really wanted this title lol

For TH as independent pro, every title or high finishes mean extra dollar for him. I can't say TH like to fly around on his expense just to toy around.

Badminton is a subtle game and it is difficult to tell when any player dramatically increases his level of his/her play, be it PG, LCW, TH...all the great players. LD's game, however, is so easy to tell. The difference between bad LD and good LD is night and day. His extra "gear" is not something made up by his fans to glorify his game.
