Lin Dan ( 林丹 )

Link Dan is still strong. When you are on the court next to him and then he hits it, there is nothing to think about except to be "suitably impressed".
He has a tank like body. First time I saw him, I thought he is nothing like on tv. And his physique is also unlike other baddy players. No wonder he could smash with only his wrist.
But he is clearly cutting a lot of edges now. Gained weight, gotten slow. You cant play attacking fast game without being ultra fit. Last match, saw him unable to reach some shuttles.
And with other younger, fitter, hungrier guys coming up, he either needs to pull up or get pushed out.

Then what was the point of beating Kanta Tsuneyama, Lee Dong Keun, Chou Tien Chen, LEE CHONG WEI and taking a Game off Chen Long in a Classic fashion ?
The point is that it's not a superseries event, so it doesn't count towards the superseries rankings. It's that simple buddy. Same with the world championships.

With that said though, I don't like the idea of the SS final. Why not just make it the year-end final, taking into account the points earned that calendar year regardless of tournament category (like the ATP final in tennis)? The BWF needs to stop jamming the superseries circuit down everyone's throats.

The Line judge screwed Lin Dan multiple times yesterday. Here at 21-13 16-16...Lin Dan would have won in straight games had a correct call been made.

An FB user wrote that there were 5-6 occassions where Lin Dan was not satisfied with the call.

I favour your suggestion but without limiting it to top 8, I know there are pros and cons in doing that but I just want to see all the best of the best competing. Otherwise what is Grand Finale ?

Really? Too bad, no Hawk-Eye on Ct 2.

I believe everybody is looking forward to another LD - LCW clash which is getting rare, for sure the fans and Yonex would be mighty pleasded with that. Disappointed.

Here it is..14-13 in the Third set...that particular Line judge needs to get his eye tested. Disgrace..

My wish is to see Hawk-Eye much more affordable and a standard feature in every tournament, at least for all the courts from QFs onwards. I know human error is unavoidable, short of deliberate bias, that's why I rather trust technology.

LD , LCW types always dispute line judges. Their fanboys split hair when they lose.
Never seen CL do that.
Some are just more equal than others.

I'm sure all players without exception dispute linecalls when they feel hard done by, that's why we have Hawk-Eye or IRS. It's the same for every sport involving human judges.

That is a lot of money to be put there, except if you only use 2 courts for the whole QF (10 matches per court) so only 2 Hawk Eye needed

Then you havent seen Chen Long get his net kill blocked or his net shot killed very often.... :D

LCW is in different league. But shi yuqi kept the scores close in the game 1.

Interesting how he can lose to Ng Ka Long in one week and then go on and play like this the next :D but maybe he takes 2-3 matches to adapt to the conditions and find his groove in the attacking play, who knows....
