I know the one. His racket almost moves horizontally, but he gets so much length and accuracy on the lift.
The 2nd rally gives a good angle of how it really looks courtside. That wrist strength and racquet speed...simply astonishing. Poor Ratchanok is the victim in this scenario.
2016 LD > 2016 CL 2016 LD > 2008 LD Am I the only one who thinks 2016 LD is better than 2008 LD, irrespective of the olympic result?
2008 LD was like the god of badminton. No one could surpass him at that level even now Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Not only that, during Lin Dan's heydays, there is a certain aura of invincibility about him so much so that any player standing opposite him couldn't help but feel intimidated even before the the first shot is hit. On court he appeared imperious, exuding supreme confidence, some see it as swagger but to me it's an air of indomitable spirit, dominance, self-mastery, mental toughness, and inner belief, the hallmarks of a true champion, the best of the best. Significantly, post-LOG'12, Lin Dan has mellowed quite a bit as he matures, becoming somewhat more subdued, more restrained, and it shows in the intentional transformation of his game. Somehow , he seemed to have gone overboard last year culminating in missing a medal in the Rio Olympics which as we now know was due to personal issues. But now I sense judging by the way he is playing in the ongoing CBSL a sort of return to the form reminiscent of his former glorious days though not fully as his current age is certainly a limiting factor. Still it's what I'd love to see in him, the good old one-and-only Lin Dan at or near his very best. Give it another go, Lin Dan !
I think if he continues and participates in the Tokyo Olympics he can get gold again. I am damn sure. LIN DAN!!! Winnnnn.... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
doubt the china coaches want a 36 37 year old on the roster to Tokyo unless he is winning the titles consistently Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
If he wants then he shall. I know many would be looking forward for the World Championships & if he continues his current form then he will be the one. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Neither will he win a medal in Tokyo nor was him missing one in Rio due to personal issues....he was just 2% worse than LCW on that day, and mostly because he got much slower over the years and even his mental edge over LCW wasnt enough anymore. Stop putting him on a pedestal please Still good to see him play well, though. I guess he wants to prove that he can stay in the Top10 as long as Peter Gade did.
i believe he is gonna last longer than gade , just whether he gets the support from his association Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
chances of giving LD suport to tokyo is next to none, CL proved once again by getting gold , its time for china to change blood, even the other disciplines too , the youngsters need to step up but i doubt there will be any next LD anytime soon Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
