Went to the Lin Ning Singapore Open 2011 final. China took four titles out of the five, namely the WS, WD, MS(walked over by Chen Jin as Lin Dan declared unwell for match) and MD. Here are some photos to share, hope you guys enjoy. Discussion and comments are welcome. #1. I was late, so the Taiwan and Indonesia team had completed their game. Indo took Taiwan by 21-17 and 27-25. #2. Second match was WS, Wang Xin of China against Tine BAUN of Denmark. Wang Xin was preparing for a smach. #3. A mid-air overhead clear by Wang Xin. #4. A seemingly simple forehand clear action could bend the racket by this much. #5. A jump smash by Wang Xin #6. China team looked on while Wang Xin was playing against Tine BAUN. #7.
#8. A beautiful overhead clear by Tine BAUN. #9 #10. Both Service Judge and Wang Xin said "oh my god!". #11. Are you convinced? #12. Wang Xin celebrates by clenching her fit after winning another point. #13. Tine BAUN retrieving a drop shot. #14. Wang Xin : Wait! I am not ready. #15. Two minutes interval after the first game.
#16. Coach : please do not disturb when I am coaching my player. #17. Wang Xin celebrates after concluding the game by 21-19, 21-17. #18. Thank you ! #19. Sportsmanship spirit - Denmark coach shakes hand with China coach Zhang Ning. #20. Li Ning equivalent of OCIM "天王椅“。
#21. The real camera man in action. #22. Wang Xin and Tine BAUN at the prize presentation ceremony. #23. Lin Dan :- ehh, pai seh, today not felling well, got M/C, cannot play. Chen Jin over huh. Sorry sorry!! The organizer arranged for Lin Dan to announce personally to the spectators and suppoters that he would not be playing in today's MS match because he was not feeling well, while his compatriot Chen Jin looked on. Chen Jin walked over the MS single match to become the MS champion. The announcement upset a lot of supports and spectators alike. From there on, the China team had been booed by the audience in every match. #24. Li Ning open's official taking up positions in preparation for the next match.
#25. Korean WD player Jung Eun Ha preparing to smash. #26. An impressive clear by Jung Eun Ha. #27. Jung Eun Ha executing a power smash. #28. Another beautiful smash that was all out to kill the China team. #29. An attack smash by Min Jung Kim. #30. When come to game play, there is no questions asked for Jung Eun Ha, Her commitment can be seen from the way she retrieved the dropped shot form the China team.
#31. but at times it does happen this way...... #32. since the Korean pair is so strong in defence, Tian Qing of China pair is adding all her body weight to make the smash more deadly.... #33. A easy clear from Zhao Yunlei. #34. A shot not only has to be powerfull, the pose must be as intimidating too. #35. there is no lack in action and power packed play between the China and Korean team.
#36. Zhao Yunlei returning with a drive #37. A midair smash from Tian Qing. #38. But if a return cannot be threatening, at least it has to be looking beautiful. #39. Not every shots can be a attacking shot, at times one has to play defence as well. The China pair is doing just that..... #40. here comes the attacking play again....
#41. Korea player Min Jung Kim intercepting a shot from the China team. #42. The China pair took the Korean with a conclusive 21-13, 21-16 after intense action packed and high speed play. Jung Kim, come on, runner up is equally impressive, you have done well too! #43. Match interval......will post the MD tomorrow....
Photo #21 - That's Raphael Sachetat of BadmintonPhoto.com and Badzine.net; He will be in Indonesia for the Indonesian Open
Thanks for your compliment. I use Nikon D7000, Nikon 80-200mm , F2.8. D7000. Most of the shots are at ISO 4000 to 5000. In order to max up the shutterspeed, I down the EV by -ve 0.3. all shots are JPG, not RAW.
#44. MD match between China and Indonesia. Jumped smash by Alvent Yulianto. #45. Hendra Aprida is preparing for a block. #46. Hendra Aprida's jumped smash to create a steeper angle of landing. #47. #48. Fu Haifeng preparing to smash. #49. a lot of jump smash in MD, combining speed, power and steep angle to create opportunity for the next shot. #50. every subsecond and the quality of return is extremely critical in MD.
#51. Alvent Yulianto is likely returning with a aseline shot, a lot of power, no "breadtalke" please. #52. Left hander Fu Haifeng of China, his left arm is much much bigger than his right one. #53. A powerful smash by Cai Yun with a complete follow through. #54. Cai Yun - power balance. #55. I conclude one thing for sure - it is more difficult to frame the MD in action with the shuttle. Because their "shuttle" is faster than my "shutter".
