the crowd is now turning against LD...chanting "LCW, jia you!!" repeatedly, but to no avail...LD is just reading the game & anticipating the shots much better..

Lin Dan has his first title after the Olympic Gold
Final Score at the China Open MS Final 21-18, 21-9
    Lee Chong Wei is distraught.

Does that mean Lin Dan moves up to first place in rankings or stays 2nd after winning this China Open?

Absolutely no problems for Lin Dan. Lee Chong Wei never really looked in a good position... Even when he was leading in the first set :S.

Lin Dan goes home with USD 18,750
Lee Chong Wei takes USD 7,500

The cost of too much casualness = USD 11,250 (and then some) ;)

from OG and this final, LD demonstrates that he has a better match IQ than LCW, reads the game and anticipate the opponent's next action much better than LCW...

he shows who's really the one on the top of the world...

after Wen Kai's game yesterday, my friend said LD would be no match with LCW if the semi-finals really indicated their current forms...

then I told my friend that LD actually used the match with Wen Kai just as a warm-up for the final, therefore intentionally played 3 games...

Well done to Lindan. Definitely the undisputed champion of this 2008. They've done a lot of home work to know what LCW weakness is. It's time for Malaysia to do more homework. Something is not working. ;)

    I disagree.

Lee Chong Wei returned almost every smash Lin Dan sent down.
I'd say Lin Dan was the one scared to smash anymore ;)
He hit more clears in this game than any time in recent memory.

Ha... but the new strategy won him the match.

LD well aware of LCW shots, I think LCW needs to train harder particularly his back hand overhead shots as this seems his weakness spot.....

guess not yet... LCW just got too many points from the many competitions LD was absent, and built a comfortable buffer...

Yet I think LD and the Chinese team really don't really mind the ranking at this moment... traditionally they just care about the big events in the following priorities:
    1. OG
    2. Thomas Cup / Uber Cup
    3. (maybe Sudiman Cup) or WC

they would care about the world ranking only when it affects their entry to the above...

It was OG all over again...though LCW played a bit better this time...but still made mistakes to let LD win the match...:crying:
